Guys i'm after some where in sydney south that sells these
type of fittings, as i'm trying to get my oil cooler set up on
the lancer.

Thanks Grant.

Give me the exact type of fittings your after, I can get you some, and likely aloooot cheaper.

Yeah Speedflow / Pro Flo are heaps cheaper than Earls (learned my lesson the hard way lol) .

You wanna know something? They're all made in the same place at Taree about 1.5 hrs north of me and they just use different colouring to make them whatever brand! I found this out recently :)

Like i was saying, i will be able to get them alooot cheaper, so once you get a price for what you want, let me know what it be and ill see what i can do if you like..

Its ridiculous what they charge, and what you actually pay!

Mate, if you havent bought any fittings yet, head into AutoBarn, and ask for Five Ten (510) Automotive fittings, it will be on theyre registrar..I gaurantee if they got the part in stock it will be alot cheaper than anywhere else...

Try not to mix and match brands when fitting them together either. i.e. have same brand if possible when joining connections. I have 2 x -10 male fittings coming out of my oil pump for the oil cooler. One is an Earls blue coloured fitting, the other a black fitting from fuk knows where I cant remember. Both were identical specs. Now when I fit my lines to them the line with the Earls fitting doesnt leak, but the line with the black male thread leaks through the small ball bearing hole on the outside of the female fitting. I know this cause I blamed the female fitting and bought a new one as a replacmet and it leaks through the small bearing hole as well. Verdict - the black male -10AN fitting screwed into the oil filter housing is the culprit.

If you want -10AN male fittings to screw into your oil filter housing buy Earls part number 9919FFJ being M16 x 1.5 thread to a male -10AN connection. Also get a couple of crush washers or dowty seals to go with them. Once they're into your housing, your -10AN oil lines will screw straight onto them :)

thanks jap63, i'll see how i go, as i need to take the hole
thing with me so i can ask a few questions as to what sizes i need
the cooler has jic while the trust relocation block has -8 or -10 fittings i think :confused::confused::confused::confused:

The guys at the Enzed shop out my way are the most useless bunch of asswipes on the planet, rude too especially whe nyou say its for a car. I believe Repco are a distributor for Proflow and Speedflow too arent they?

I just paid $260 from Pirtek for:

1m of braided hosing,
2 straight 10an earls fittings,
2 45degree 10an earls fittings

WTF!! Is that about normal??

NOPE! Welcome to the rediculously expensive and over-priced world of anodised fittings and braided lines :( You got ripped off my friend because of the current exchange rate when buying genuine Earls products. Earls stuff right now is SO FKN EXPENSIVE because the RRP in Australia is based on the $US.

All this anodised stuff is made in Australia in a place at Taree NSW! Just that different brands get stamped differently and anodised a slightly different colour (its not well known or common knowledge but the rumours are believed true. Especially after a guy from my work into Hotrods went there in person and bought stuff direct from the manufacturer). When it comes to Earls we are buying an Australian made product, branded with a US name and paying a US price :( Best to go with the cheaper Aussie brands right now...

Usually prices are around:
2 x 45 degree swivel seal angles = $90
2 x straights = $30
1m of -10AN autoflex hose = $50

I made the mistake a bit over a year ago buying all Earls stuff myself. Recently when I needed another fitting I had to get Earls so that the anodised colouring matched. I was hit with a bill for $75 for a single fitting I paid $45 for 6 months ago (fkn ripoffs).

In my car now theres about $1500 worth of lines and fittings. Its damn expensive whether you go for swivel seal or pushlock fittings.

The first pic was about $800 worth of genuine Earls products and a couple 2nd hand -10AN lines I didnt end up using as I was sussing out turbo oil return lines at the time. The 2nd pic is about $400 worth of pushlock fittings and line from Proflow in Australia for my oil cooler setup. I've bought some other bits and pieces in between to get a correct angle etc.

The problem with this stuff is that you pay top dollar for it, and when you realise you need to change or move the position of something, suddenly your gonna need a 120 degree fitting instead of a 90 degree fitting for exampleand you're up for at least another $45-$60 just there  There was a few times I listed bits I didnt end up using on EBay and sold for $20 just to get some $$ back :(

BUT, after all the hassle and expense of all the above, I sit back now and say 'man that looks fkn sweet!!!! lol :D
