Police said a 21-year-old Sunshine man was clocked at 130km/h opposite Sunshine police station in his Mitsubishi Evo sports car about 11.30am.

LOL WTF... ?

And earlier this morning, a disqualified L-plater was caught driving at more than 130km/h in a 70km/h zone in Sydney Road, Campbellfield, about 10.50am.

The man, who allegedly ran a red light when police tried to stop him, had fitted two ‘space saver’ wheels with a maximum 80km/h speed on the front of his Subaru WRX

Police said the ‘space savers’ each had two missing wheel nuts and one of the car’s rear wheels was bald.


The Subaru was impounded and the man will be charged on summons for disqualified driving, exceeding the speed limit by 45 km/h or more, running a red light, speed dangerous and using an unsafe vehicle.

BAHHAHAHAHHAHAH WAT A FKN NUFFY!

aye... its not worth the risk anymore... speed regularly and its not if but when you are going to get caught, and now if you are bein g reckless any you injure someone your going to be looking at serious penalties

Im all for keeping the roads safe, reducing the road toll etc.....

But when some honest car enthusiasts are being targeted as dangerous criminals (enough to warrant a fucking police taskforce in Melbourne) when theres actually dealers, rapists, gangs, thieves etc walking the streets and the so called "hoons" are being branded as a bigger threat to society it pisses me off. Its a gross misuse of police resources and time and the media should be ashamed of themselves.

Basically if you drive any car that can pull a 1/4 in under 14 seconds you warrant some kind of police attention or the label hoon. Even if you drove a 458 you'd labelled as an expensive hoon.

I agree burnouts in public places, riots at bob janes, anti social stupid behaviour (250km on the Nepean hwy or freeways) deserves to be punished. But theres simply no world or important local news at the moment - the GFC is boring, Tiger woods has been overkilled, aussie politics are boring and stable till the next election, no one give s a shit about Iraq or afghanistan anymore - and so the hoons seem to be in the media gunsights more often than not lately, because lets face it, if you live in the melbourne metro area you can see it on a daily basis.

Anyway thats my rant.
