Ive seen some real cheap 16g turbos on ebay for sale, now I know there cheap for a reason but has anyone used them?

Was thinking of getting one for a mates gsr

The only turbo id buy off ebay is Kinugawa they are a great turbo, ive bought a few turbos for around $300 mark they just dont feel as good or last as long.

I havent used one yet (im about to buy a Kinugawa billet td06sl2 20g next week) but got 2 mates that have had them on their sr20s for a couple of years now.

They are getting around 380hp on 20-22psi on bp98. Ive been doing alot of reading about Kinugawa turbos and guys with Subaru's and sr20's seems to be getting great results from them.

I've got a Kinugawa T67 I haven't used yet. Feels pretty quality :p
All of my drifter mates use them without issue and they're rough as guts.

I was using a td05 with 20g wheel.. Did about 3000 ish k's before I pulled the motor out.. Planning on running it on my ute later.. But I was running 15psi everyday.. Never had an issue

Motor wasn't stuffed either, it had a rebuild. Just got bored of the car.

I have used a variety of Kando turbos.. TD05-16 and 20G, TD06-20G etc. Running up to 25 psi , and for a couple of years . The operation of the turbos has been good. HOWEVER, the finish of the bearing housing can be variable. I pull every Kando turbo apart before using them ( ie blue printing). The balance is always spot on... but 2 out of10 turbos have had issues with say the oil hole location in the thrust bearing, coarse finish in the bearing bore and in one case, over zealous polishing of the turbine shaft ! Be aware ! However, once these issues are sorted, there have been no problems.

^^^^^ As above.... I run one of Mike's (blackvr) TD05 16g which he pulled apart and replaced the bearing with a genuine one. There was some tiny amount of swarf in the bearing from kando.

The turbo has run perfectly ever since on 22psi and with a dose of anti-lag too.

Buying a Kando turbo plus pulling them apart still works out much cheaper than buying a genuine turbo centre from Mitsibishi... cant go wrong :)

Same. Kano TD05 16g big.

20+psi on a 2.4 stroker and over 1500 race only km's

And let me tell you, at 6500rpm on a stroker at 20psi, the 16g is hating every single second of it!!! If it was a shit turbo, it would have failed long ago.
