hey guys
i got an ecm link,but it fails to connect to my laptop.
now i can normally get all programable ecus to link up (haltech, link, adapt, emanage, ect) but this ecm link is just giving me static.
would anybody who runs one in their car be able to share any words of wisdom, or better try using their laptop and lead on my ecu to try get it to connect, i would be willing to travel to you, even bearing refreshing beverages =)
i live in smithfield nsw, so hopefully somebody is near by...

At risk of sounding daft, you do have the ignition turned to 'on', don't you? The program won't communicate at all if the ECU is powered down.

Failing that, have you tried assigning a different COM port on the computer?
 
its in a proton m21 with all protons wiring... also i have fitted an.obd1 plug. i have connected my karmen scan to it and i am able to read the ecu .
evomayhem - yea i have tried that, i should have let you all know i tune cars weekly with haltech , link ect so i know alkaline about com porting, baud rating ect... this is just an odd one for me...
