Need some help with ECU for VR4 2L conversion into CC GSR ............

I have been doing lots of reading, got most of all the information for the conversion (many thanks for all the posts) but need some expert helps with the ECU. After all the reading have some questions

1. Will all the 4G93T CC GSR engine wiring harness pulg staright into VR4 4G63T, namely any left over bits.

2. Will a chipped 4G93T ECU run the VR4 4G63T with no problems.

3. Will a EVO 1, 2, 3 pulg staright into the 4G93T CC GSR harness and run perfectly with 510 injectors and EVO air flow meter.

4. CC GSR 4G93T has two wires for the oxygen sensor, VR4 4G63T has one wire, I take it change the VR4 oxygen sensor to the CC GSR one.

5. What can be done about the two ugly bolt when you remove the original VR4 engine mount.

Any help will be very much appriciated.

Thank you, Mac.

1. The plugs on throttle and a few other places are different. Try swap over for magna throttle body. And use GSR coil pack and other sensors

2. Not sure about a chipped GSR ecu. But vr4 ecu is a no. If you want tunable I'd run an evo7 ecu

3. Evo1,2,3 harness into what? Injectors airflow meter ect is compatible but depending on the ecu will determine if the tube will be out. If your running 510cc and big afm run Evo ecu :) but like I said go Evo 7 and you can tube any size injector afm ect

4. Yes the oxy sensors are different so use the GSR or Evo oxysenor :) they all have sane thread for manifold

5. The bolts on the vr4 near power stearing pump are easy. First it's a must to change the engine mount and bracket on the motor itself to Evo. Two options for the left over boots...the bracket also holds power steering pump and things so need to find Evo one other wise if your creative you can take out the two studs even grind the bracket so it isn't visible but I'd settle at just removing the 2 studs :)

+1 for gman
i only going on research that i have done, i have a 93t in a proton. i will be changing to a vr4 6 bolt type soon
1. some plugs are different, maybe cas.
the injector wires need to be rerouted, but they are long enough
i have a sonata tb, it is from essentially a vr4 engine, im sure that the gsr loom plugged straight in, though you need a 4pin tps (built in idle switch) and leave the idle switch unplugged
2. will be fine, may need rechipping, or buy ecmlink
3. evo1-3 ecu into gsr harness? yes. run perfectly... um, i think it will. but you have a chipped gsr ecu, so just buy ecmlink.
also you may have issues with radiator fan triggering. some gsr are ecu run, some arent. evo3 is, evo 1-2 isnt. not hard to rectify
4. change sensor. or run wideband with your ecmlink, then leave wires unplugged.
5. as g said /\

also the evo7 ecu is not a plug in, it requires some wiring plug repinning. probably i would go this way if i was doing it again. but i had a chipped ecu, so i got ecmlink.

For the price and the tiny electrical work te Evo 6 or 7 ecu is mucho very very good option.
ECM link is great. But I think the Evo ecu is far superior. Plus with GSR/Evo ECM link, only light version works apparently so you don't get all the features

Thanks for the information. I have started stripping the engine bay, getting set up to remove engine this weekend.

I have a complete VR4 engine to go in and have got EVO 3 engine mount for the converstion. Looking at running Evo 1,2,3 ECU with GSR harness or getting the GSR ECU chipped, will figure it out when engine in and running.

Will a chipped CC GSR ECU run the VR4 engine well.
