Hi there!!

This is my first visit on this forum hehe!! :D

My name is Wolfgang M?ller and i'm from Sweden!!

I wonder if annyone can help me with my ECU problem, i own a Galant VR-4 91 "Gulf" Spec and i need a "New" ECU... does annyone know where i can get one in a werry good shape or something??

The gulf spec VR-4 dont have the Lambda sensor original in the exhaust system and thats why i have some problems to get a new one for my Galant...

In worst case, does Mitsubishi still sell new ECU's for the Galant VR-4 91??

Hi there and welcome! So your saying your car does not have an oxygen sensor in your car? What makes you think you need a new ECU??

Have you tried getting hold of kami @ garage-phantom? He should be able to help you out!

if needed i should be able to chip an Aspec ECU to the gulf edition.

trick is to find an Aspec (same as US) for sale in decent knick.

I would take a guess that his capacitors have started to leak acid and started to eat the board?

The gulf edition doesnt have an 02 sensor, or a cat, or most other emissions stuff, cause when u live in the gulf, who cares bout economy?

I have a ECU from an 88 JDM VR4 - if this helps at all... It's a dual board though so I doubt it. The offer is there anyways. Hope you sort it.

Well it started with this, i couldn't start my car and the CEL was on all the time, the fuelpump was working but no fuel to the plugs so the injectors didn't work so then i thaught that it could only be the ECU...

I asked a friend og mine to sheck the ECU and he discoverd that there was a micro prossesor that went down (Unusual)

I don't know wish kind of ECU i can run my car on but i know that a ECU from a US version will not work in my car because i don't have a lambda sensor in my car... i only know that it has to be a ECU from a "Gulf" spec VR-4 to get it run again... and then i don't know if i can use a ECU from a other VR-4... only know that it has be the same version as a "GULF" Spec car...

EDIT: These are the numbers on my ECU:

MD180309
E2T37283

I think he might mean it doesnt have a 2nd O2 Sensor (JSpecs have 2 sensors (1 before the Cat (Std location) and 1 after) - NFI what the 2nd does, its sitting in free air on mine

there is only one O2 sensor, the "other" O2 sensor your referring to after the cat is more of an exhaust gas temperature probe, it basically senses when the cat get too hot and flicks a little red light on the intrument cluster to tell you pull over and let the car cool down.

if you unplug it, it will just light the light up, i normally short mine out.

The temp probe is really only there to tell you not to park in long grass - so that your cat doesn't start a fire and burn your car down... :D
