i reckon this type of electric car is going to be the first to really take off on any scale.
im not sure of the life of the battery cells they use, replacement costs of cells may not outweigh the cost of buying fuel... but at the rate fule prices keep skyrocketing it mightnt be too long untill anything is cheaper then buying petty.

I built an electric Hillman Imp 3 yrs ago. 680 kg ringing wet.
4 wheel disc brakes, kombi gearbox, go-kart handbrake etc
But 144v of nickel zinc batteries for my car = $5,500 from China.
So I put the whole car on hold. I'll get back to it later when batteries
come down in price. I don't want to use 12 trogen's bats @ 372kg.
