Has anyone had issues with back window not going back up. I just got my windows tinted today and wen i got home noticed the rear window was 1cm from the top, pushed the button for it to go up and it wouldn't. So pushed button to make it go down a little, then pushed it up again wouldn't go up.

Took the door skin off and the cable that wides up was tangled and crossed not on the wheel thing.
Obviously the stupid tint guy was forcing the window, broke it.

Now its stuffed.

managed to tie it up so mad.

where can i get a new cable thing that on the wheel. who would be able to fix it? auto electrician?

you need a whole new window regulator assembly- and if I were you i'd hit up the window tinter cos as your about to find out- these things aint cheap!

~ $ 140 from mitsubishi :p

that cheap? you will need to buy a whole reg assembly.. its very common for the wires to **** up... it happen with me once..

if you need a second hand one let me know.

PS: also you wont beable to hit the tint guy up cos its a common problem.. it happens when u least expect it!

which door? ill ask my mate..

i doubt he would.

when i got my 2 they were $117 each, but prices vary depending on the dealership u go to. I remember dane having to pay more than that

You need a new window regulator which is basically the pole where the window slides up/down and has the cable to wind up/down the window. You can use your old motor, im sure that will be fine.

Mine was roughly $150ish for the window regulator.

My rear drivers side door tangled.

Btw, its not the tint place fault, its just a common problem with the original type window regulators. The new ones have a newer/modified design.

Jstyle..

rear drivers side door.

G5R5OL - which dealer you get yours from.

I know the guys at oakleigh mits so if anyone needs parts i can get
at very good prices!

Is it easy to fit the new regulator??

ye i will be wanting a refund or they can pay for the damage.

they break it they pay for it!

thats a really bad way about trying to fix it.. its not their fault that its a common fault in lancers to have regs tangle up..

its like me going down to mitsubishi and getting a heavy duty clutch fitted.. then it busts a gearbox.. is it really their fault? i think not..

but anyways i doubt they will come to the party with you.

Thats a totally different screnario! if the clutch was fine and you got the gearbox fluid changed, and then you got it back and the clutch was ******- would you complain??

if it wasnt broken when he took it in, and was when he got it back- they're responsible!

They would of had to take the window out and then would have seen the wire frayed/tangled. Not their fault.

Meh pointless trying to get them to pay, its like $150 or so......

that doesnt make sense but anyways..

everyone knows its a common fault with lancers to have regs tangle up..

IF it got tangled there and then when they were doing the tinting then i would say they would probably take the blame.. but to have you drive off and come bak after the weekend on a monday and complain about it.. they will probably jsut tell you where to go.. and if youw anna take it further like fair tradings.. theres going to be a huge wait etc..

IMHO its spilt milk.. not worth the hassles and paperwork.. for what $120 for a new reg?

Jon

all i can do is ask and tell them the situation if they don't wanna pay can't do alot about it, but who knows until you ask.

JStyle did you speak to your friend regarding the regulator?

will call mits tomorrow and get a price for a new one!

langsr, who did the window tinting?

my mate got his done by tint professor and the remote central locking actuator didnt work, so he took it bac, half hour later they gave him the keys bac brand new actuator and worked perfect. they got autobarn near where they were 2 fix it. and they gave him a courtesy car for the day didnt pay for it, and didnt pay to get the actuator fixed they took full responsibility of it.

Tint Professor did it.

both my rears have already gone - nothing like replacing them with brand new ones - theyve revised them with extra stregthening support it seems...

anyway when my rear left one went, my mate was simply just putting the window back up and then bang it happened - cant blame him for it - same way cant blame the window tinting people... its a known issue.. theyre gonna go sooner or later
