Trying to find out what my engine is out of.
Its a little hard to tell from the number I might have to clean it up a little.
4G63TA or KA
Searched a fair bit, google and on here.
Any help?
Thanks

Haven't heard of the KA bit before?
4G63T would just be the engine type (2.0L DOHC Turbo)

CAS on the end of the intake cam?
How many flywheel bolts? (If you've got it apart)

I think it'll be KA actually- the letters work like numbers, AA, AB, AC through to TA, TB, TC etc. I have a list of Evo block letters (on my other computer which has currently crashed), and 3 evo (1,2 and 3) blocks downstairs are NW, OM, PC and SF. The Evo block letters at least are specific to Evo's. I also have some 6 bolt vr4 blocks which have the following letters- LM, LJ (x2) and JF. So your KA letters would logically be in the middle of that group. Not sure if the 6 bolts had letters that were specifically used for vr4s or DSMs etc though.

Yeah I thought it was out of an early evo. (1,2,3)
But not 100% sure, I thought it would be easy then this lol.
They are saying I need the vin aswell.? ah don't have that.

If its a 6bolt its not a evo 1-3. 6bolt turbo were in vr4. The dsm tuners link for engine number isnt for the stamped number. Its for a casting number. Look at the link for its location and the 10th digit is the year built. Thats for 1g usa stuff. I imagine we have same casting number arrangements, but you will have to look for yourself
