Hi fellas

I could possibly get my hands on 2 or 3 of these but before i shell out the cash id like to see who who be interested in them.

They will be 7 bolt 2.4L with or with out the SOHC head but because ive got to buy complete the price wont change, if you want just the block with the crank, rods and pistons i am willing to seperate for you to save on freight weight/costs. If i was to do this id just throw the head in the bin as it would be no use to me either.

I understand these nimbus blocks will only be of use to the evo 1,2,3/gsr guys as the mount is on the box not the block like the vr4's as they need the hyundai GC4S block.
Please correct me on this if im wrong guys.

Im not into making heaps of money of these just enough to cover my time to go rip them out of cars for you.

So let me know who would be keen and ill see what i can do.

Mods if its ok ill post a reasonable price when or if i get the intrest from other members.

Text or PM the location will be Penrith NSW

What year did they come out in 6 bolt they made the 2.4 nimbus from 1992 through to 1997. Im guessing maybe the earlier models as i cant see them just mixing them into the 7 bolt variety along the way.

92 and some 93 but I don't know the cut off. The motor looks totally different.

I guess everyone else will be on the hunt for them now!

Yeah, the 6 bolt rocker cover is held on by only 2 bolts where the 7 bolt ones have several bolts around the outside.

Heres a pic of the 6-bolt 4G64 8-valve engine in a 91-92 UF Nimbus. Note the bare alloy rocker cover and 2 large bolts in the middle of the rocker cover:

Heres a pic of the 7-bolt 4G64 16-valve engine in a 93-98 UF Nimbus. Note it is a newer style rocker cover with a breather hose out of the top, plus it has the words '16-valve' on it:

Just look for a UF Nimbus like this 1994-1998 2-tone model with chrome grille for instant success for a 7-bolt 4G64 2.4.

OR, if you're looking at the 1991-1993 model UF Nimbus as pictured below, they have the smaller front grille, different front bar and bonnet/headlights.
These Nimbus' will either have the 6-bolt 4G64 (1991-1992) engine, or the 7-bolt 4G64 (1993-1994) engine.
Check under the bonnet to be sure which version of engine it has!!

Early Sonata (90-91) is supposed to have a 2.4 6 bolt as well but I've never seen one here. Only V6's.

I updated the pics.
The Nimbus most certainly did come out with the 6-bolt bottom end 4G64 as well. On the 8-valve alloy rocker cover model.
They came out on the very first UF Nimbus models in 1991-1992, and possibly early 1993 when they then changed over to the 7 bolt block in 1993.
I had one of these engines, hell, here are photos of it in my garage back in the day when I was still building the coupe.
And for good measure, the engine came out of my old white Nimbus like pictured.
I've owned 2 x UF Nimbus', both identical in white colour and white colour coded bumpers. One had the 6-bolt motor, the other had a 7-bolt motor.
The 6-bolt as mentioned, has the old style alloy rocker cover with 2 big ass bolts on the top of it.
In the last pic you can count the 6 bolts on the flywheel.

... and here's the 7 bolt 4G64 2.4L engine you will find that occupies every other UF Nimbus built between 1993-1998.
