eoi: GSR lancer possible part out

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Ben, if that is Frankie's old Blue GSR with EVO II front end conversion then I was amazed that the fkn insurance company paid him out for it back then. All it needed was some front lower suspension parts due to some idiot driver hitting a gutter in the wet (EVL20T) lol. Im sure there was only $1000 worth of replacement parts needed. It was a total waste of an otherwise complete car IMO. But I thought it was still repairable and registerable?

Here's the info: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/written_off_vehicles/written-off_vehicles_reforms.html

Will unregistered written-off vehicles classified as repairable written-off on or before 31 January 2011 be able to be registered?

Vehicles classified as repairable written-off in NSW on or before 31 January 2011 can be registered if repairs are certified by a NSW Fair Trading licensed repairer and the vehicle passes two inspections. See Vehicle Owner information for details.
However, if a repairable written-off vehicle has not been repaired and re-registered by 31 January 2013, you will need to apply to Roads and Maritime Services for an Authorisation to Repair. The repairs to the vehicle must be certified by a NSW Fair Trading licensed repairer and the vehicle must pass two inspections.

Oh, and I might be interested in the 5 stud conversion and gearbox if you do decide to part it out lol

These laws are crap. If something can be repaired safely, they it should be ok to do it.
It is more environmentally responsible to repair cars with quality spares than to scrap and replace it.
These laws aren't in WA yet, but can't be far away.

If this car only needs small repairs then it would be nice to get the extension and then sell it on complete. Unfortunately it's probably worth more in parts...

yeah the amount of inspection and the stuffing around doesn't make it worth the time or money.

I'd like to see if I can get a buyer for the shell. I don't won't to strip it and be stuck with parts.. I'll get up some pics when I get home today if it's not to late then go from there

If all has been fixed surely it is just a matter of having the inspection done of the repairs and getting it registered?

Unfortunately not nsw for quite some time now have had a blanked ban on write offs. In nsw they are all declared stat write offs except those with hail damage. You can apply to have the write off reviewed as there maybe a notation that it was an economical write off ie to expensive for the company to bother for the kind of car
