EOI: Monthly Meets?

Guys,

The 4GT forum is getting a lil boring of late. I proposing that we should have a monthly meet. This will be our trial event, venue's can change every month.

Date: 2nd Sunday every month??? (Hoping for August)
Location: North Warf car park

Rules:
1: No hooning, simple!

Ideas for the day:
1: swap meets - trade, buy/sell parts
2: coffee/kebab/bbq stalls if anyone knows anyone

Questions needed answering:
1: Does anyone know if any other car club/forum use this car park? (Evo Oz use this place every first Sunday).
2: Are there any other events that might clash with this meet and affect our turn out?

Im pretty sure VIC (vic imports club) use this as a meeting point for their official cruises/events.

Honestly I'm not too much of a fan of 'following Evo-OZ footsteps' by choosing the same place as a meeting point. I can understand why it's a good spot; central to everyone and heaps of carpark space. But yeh, kind of feel like a carbon-copy going to the same generic spot.

Otherwise its a great idea!

mmm yer those evo oz meets i find are boring too.. they just meet up and do nothing.. so if there was some sort of "cruise" or something 30mins after the meet id prob come down.. if its just a mini meet and a chit chat.. possibly would come down 1/4 meets.

Over the years I have found that there's not as many people that turn up to meets in winter, but if you wanna have a meet, then it'd probably be better if it's not the week before the go karting??

Agreed, maybe push this back to August if the Go-Karting is still going ahead!

Benefits of this place

• Nice quite street pretty central to a lot of folks
• There's a nice pub for food at the corner of Moray and York Streets (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&...=IVoRTgBg1kyMgT3SZ6O_Lg&cbp=12,32.98,,0,-0.21)
• If it rains, I know a nice underground car park that's free around the area.

but i'd def like to have something like this either monthly quarterly etc..
things like this just don't work in the colder months!

im all for a semi-regular meet and or cruise. I think it'd be excellent to get a core bunch of regulars that make the effort to keep in touch and just hang out once every 6-8wks.

maybe involve a cruise every second time, otherwise meet up for a beer or feed in neutral or alternating locations, we can discuss forum/cars/food/booze/girls/life etc (in no particular order of preference Lol)
