Hey guys.

I was thinking that it would be great to get a yearly meet!
Even if it was a one off!!!
I'm thinking somewhere central based on the interested parties.

If we get say 50% of the numbers from NSW then it'll be closer to home for them, or say if we had more QLD's, we'll try and get it up closer to them.

Now I know it'll be a big task, but it is worth a try.

OR even if we had a simultaneous meet, ie We all meet in our own states on the same day.

Even if we combined it with an existing event ie Jambo / Powercruise / Summernats you get the idea.

I'm happy to do this once in my life because it is a big cost if it does go interstate.

A nice place would be MILDURA focussed on the SA/VIC/NSW boys. Its got a 1/8 mile track and plenty of accommodation.

ACT - NSW / VIC. I'm not sure what facilities it has.

SYD - if NSW/VIC/QLD/SA based

As for TAS,NT and WA, it'll be a bloody long hike but if there is enough interest, I'm up for it.

We could even make it a corners meet! ie race track not drag track.

Of course this would not be any time soon, maybe something to aim for in 2011 or 2012?

Opinions?

I totally agree Baz. There are plenty of us in here who would like to go and have a meet and a squirt in any event, not just drags and not just for the high powered cars. A circuit, motorkhana, timed event and others including show'n'shine would make it a worthwhile spectacle worth going to every year - somebody say "MITSUNATS!" lol

Obviously you cant beat venues that can already cater for some of these events. My Mrs is hell bent on going to Jamboree this year so there's an easy $1000 minimum I'll be forking out for that sharing with friends in one of the Q penthouse apartments for a week. Having something more 'hands on' and 'Mitsu' based would interest me more!
Im in NSW so whether its north, south or west we're pretty central.

I like the way you think Baz. A national T4G meet ftw!
I think it would be hard to do every year, but yeah much like you I'm happy to fork out a few dollars to do this even as a once off, or every 2-3 years or whatever. It is a very good idea!
Obviously you won't get everyone, but you never will hey.

I think it all comes down to: who wants to nominate themselves as the organizer and are they willing to put in the hours to get this thing hapening??

i'd be in for sure... just cant drive both cars.. lol... going to syd a few tmes a year as the mrs's family is there so would just work it in with a trip there

ill be in, with a date set well in advance then theres plenty of time to get cars reliable an runnin sweet,

Sooo, is there a motorsport complex west of Sydney that has a racetrack, a skid pan and somewhere to setup a motorkhana? And that is affordable to hire for a weekend.

no idea but a cruise along the putty road would be hella fun, went along there in the cordia a few months ago and was grinning from ear to ear for a few hours driving from windsor to singleton

I assume May is too close as the Superlap is on in Sydney :p

But as Liberoz said, saying it is one thing getting it into action is another, call me when you figure it out.....

Its a good cruise road eh Jimi... but its also dangerous with heaps of heavy vehicle accidents and too many yahoos on motorbikes taking their bikes for a squirt around blind corners. As long as people wont be stupid it would be a good cruise. I deal with that road often through maintenance and safety upgrades at work (RTA). That road needs a bit of respect and staying on your side of the white line within speed limits. Risk overtaking a slow vehicle out of frustration and you're playing Russian roullette in some areas.

Even if the numbers weren't all that high. As long as we had quality cars at the same spot.

I believe only a few of us will be keen enough to make the hike. Not all of us on here are crazy enough to travel thousands of km's to meet other like minded people!

It doesn't have to be a competitive thing, more of a social thing. We've all spent too much time chatting not to ever meet in person.

Actually, what about that dude who was doing WRX vs EVO thing?
Why not do REXNET vs 4GTuner?

That way the date is set, we just need to stick with the date and try and get there.

Otherwise, we can organise our own for next year. 4GTuner only?!?! I'm sure we'd get about 10 - 20 interstate, and the rest in NSW (say 50 total?)

I wonder how it much costs to get a big truck the carry a bunch of VIC cars up to SYD and then fly up?!?!...

i would probably come to something central, but like rob said is there a venue west of sydney that has everything. i know up here there is willowbank with the drag strip, QR for circuit work, the willowbank autocross track for khanacross etc and a big carpark to set up a motokhana all within 50m of each other

If you dont want to run motoring events etc, then just tack the inaugral yearly meet this year onto the REXNET vs 4GTUNER day in Sydney Baz. If we get there early we have heaps of time to catch up and meet eachother, have a run and discuss/look over our cars etc. If its a Sunday we might even organise a meet up on Saturday or something the day prior? or just leave it all on Sunday? Its a date 6 months down the track so gives people plenty of time to get sorted and get the funds together. People can also put aside their tax returns lol.

Then next year, we can tack the 4GT yearly meet as part of Jamberee in QLD, or some other event in VIC? Saves some of us 2 trips interstate when you can kill 2 birds in one stone. :)

I've got a family in QLD so I've always thought about taking the cars there for a run once they are done.

Plus I can always leave the cars at their place over a long period of time and just fly up for a few jambo's lol.

Vic is not the place to be with cars these days.

Didnt read all the details, but damn when my wreck is finished I'm keen. Be great to put faces to names, and see every one have some fun. I pick having it near heathcote. Having no andra regs to worry about would be a plus to many people on here. Doesnt bother me doing a road trip from qld, planning it anyway.

That is one good thing about Heathcote.
10 secs without a cage is fine.

Plus a full day track hire is only $2500 - $3000.
Accom is plentiful and paintball is around the corner! LOL

i was at powercruise with terbulent from here this year and would be a good place for everyone to meet up i reckon, its a 4 day event with camping only costing $50 for all 4 days so cheap accommodation for everyone, they had good showers and amenities etc everyone can camp next to each other (we can make our own tent city lol) we can all eat together for dinner, drags, track cruising/hooning etc, no real organising just pre enter and show up...

just an idea.
