evo 1 - 8 valve cover's same thing?

hi guys, my evo 7 valve cover has a few crack's in it and im finding it hard to find another one and im a bit worried on pricing a new one from mitsubishi. I noticed the gasket looks very similar on the 1 - 3 evo's, has anyone ever tried this for any strange reason? or would anyone have a 1 - 3 cover i could borrow to test fit around the northside of brisbane?

Evo 1-3 most things face/are on the opposite way to the later models, as in, the timing cover, air box and inlet are in different spots, so will not fit mate....

as you can see it's all different man, you've got no chance of it fitting!!

I'd just take it to a decent fabricator, and see if the cracks can be welded up

i understand that ins/outs are on opposite sides but its just a cover.

well ive tried some metal bond glue stuff but it didnt work too good. Also the evo 7 covers are magnesium arent they? so what happens when you you weld magnesium? . . . boom?

The gasket may look similar but that's about it....

Gaskets are similar, but different, bolt holes in different places etc. Pretty sure it can be welded as its an alloy, rather than straight magnesium, from memory the only straight magnesium one was the wrc cars.
