just had a thought, i can get my hands on an import EVO 2 engine for a fair price off a friend, might be a noob question but will the 4g63t 7 bolt, slide into a GGSR? the mounts, exhaust, wiring issnt a problem just will it fit on the gear box?

hurm Turbo or high comp N/A...........

If the E2 uses a W5M33 box then it should go..i know the W5M33 Vr4 box is the same bolt up pattern for a GSR Galant ..theoretically making them all the same...bellhousings anyway.

The gearbox case splits apart..so you should in theory be able to change the front part of the bellhousing to the main case..never tried though.

You know how much wheelspin you will generate with that in your GGSR... 8)

evo 4G63 blocks don't have provision to bolt on the fore-aft engine mounts though (these attatch to the gearbox in evo's), so you'll need to do abit of custom work, IF your box has provision to bolt on the mounts (KM255's don't)

oooo more metal work sounds like fun..... so by the looks its a go if i can convince a friend to part with the half cut...... or i'm still goin hi comp n/a!

hurm wheel spin...... sounds like fun too but thats why i have a wide front guards and 17X9" wheels goin at the front....

The EVO engine will bolt to a FWD gearbox, however in a Galant you will need to do some fabrication to get the rollstopper mounts to bolt to the engine block.
Fitting a VR4 engine to your FWD would be MUCH more sensible.
You will need a 6 bolt FWD flywheel.

you mean 7bolt right?....... and i was never "sensible" with what i'v done to my car

well if a VR4 engine will slide into a LGSR then an EVO engine should go straight into a GGSR!

So where does the rear roll stopper bolt to?
The gearbox?

Dont they have a gearbox mount like the VR4?

No I was referring to fitting a VR4 engine.

Thats your choice, it is do-able. Aside from the rollstopper mount fabrication, there is also a hassle with the top engine mount and stuffing around with wiring.

then an EVO engine should go straight into a GGSR!

I have worked on a VR4 with a EVO engine and I did not have a close look at how the rollstopper brackets were done (I was afraid that it would not be pretty)

lol mounts and wires arnt the problem, its the gear box i'm worried about, will every thing just bolt in 6bolt vs 7bolt. hopefully no changes except that......

Yes a FWD Galant gearbox will bolt to an EVO engine. Use the backing plate, flywheel and starter from the NA motor.
Good luck.

p.s just remember that I said it is not a very sensible thing to do.

In an evo the front and rear roll stoppers bolt to the bellhousing part of the gearbox, they still have one mount on the cambelt end of the engine, and one on the top of the gearbox also.
RVR's use the same setup.
