Hi people
I have just sourced a k frame and front control arms from a evo 3.
Ive done a search on here about this and i do realise the front sway bar mount is different but wont matter because i have cuscos coil overs to suit evo 3 with the bracket for them to mount up.
My big question is has anyone done this to there gsr and is it really worth it? Is there a noticable increase in handling or only slight?
My current set up is cusco coilovers , whiteline rear 20mm sway, whiteline anti lift kit, front and rear strut braces. Will fitting aftermarket front sway in the evo k frame plus having the wider track give me a lot better performance?

Next question is there any difference in the rear control arms of gsr to evo 3? I couldnt find any info on it but i compared the meek websites pics of both of them and i couldnt spot any differences.

Thanks in advanced.

Here is a pic i made when i upgraded my rear GSR control arms with EVO control arms

U need ce9a sway bar, Droplink, sway bar bushes and bracket.
Performance- better steering response.
I changed my Evo 1 (same as a gsr) to ce9a suspension setup using Tein Coilover.

Unless you're driving your car to the limits and have your driving skills that finely refined - I doubt you'll notice any difference at all between the setups.

The reason I did this conversion was that I found out that the person I brought the car from was using left gsr control arms and right Evo 1 control arm. They are slight different.

If u already have most of the parts, might as well do it-but it quite a hard job.
But I reckon it was worth it.

In your instance Vu I could see it being a worthwhile job of work, but to change it for the sake of changing it is a waste of time IMO.

I think I will do it since I have all the parts it will give me done extra options in setting up the front end 2.
I'm thinking of these possible combos
Ultra race 19mm front sway whiteline 20mm rear
Whitelinee 22mm fr 20mm rear or
Whiteline 22mm front 23 ultra rear
What would you choose and why? I basically what the car well balanced with maybe a tad of oversteer

With the sway bar I ended up using genuine Evo 3. 16mm front and 22mm rear. U might as well do it as u got most of the parts already.

i went from GLXI K frame to evo 2 (CE9A) K frame. I don't think even an F1 driver would notice 'the difference in handling swapping only K-frame/control arms over'.

You will notice most difference going from OEM suspension to coilovers.
Then 2nd noticeable difference would be replacing sway bars to fatter ones.
And 3rd noticeable difference would be to replace all your suspension bushes to aftermarket ones (eg Nolathane).

I found my car less understeery on turn in with the CE9A setup. I put this entirely down the the swaybar/linkage setup though. The advantage from the lower control arms is added strength, rather than the bendy pressed steel CD5A/CD9A arms.

Same reason I'll be swapping out the rear lateral arms (Same as pictured above). Strength.
