I'm going to carry out the Evo III front brake conversion on my CC GSR

I've got a set of Evo III calipers.

Would these braided lines, specified as being for an Evo III, also fit my GSR?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HEL-braided-...ZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3caa87e414

Is there anything I need to know before trying to get this done, i.e. do any modifications need to be done, or is it just a matter of swapping out the stock GSR calipers with the Evo III calipers & pads, and fitting the braided lines?

Also, can I then just buy a set of Evo III slotted rotors and bolt them straight up at the same time, without needing to undertake any mods?

Is this something I could get a place like ABS to do, or will places like that not touch brake conversions with a 20 foot pole?

Advice from anyone who has carried this conversion out would be greatly appreciated.

hey bud, its definatly a mod ya can do at home provided ya can bleed brakes properly,
the lines are the same so ya braided 1s will fit, but double check ya calipers have the banjo fitting an not the screw in type, just to be sure
an doing the change is a strait bolt on mod no mods required,
disks i think are dba 402 an yea definatly do them at the same time, an dont skimp on cheap fluid an pads, get somthing decent,
any mechanic could do this if your unsure, id say give it a go, its money kept in your pocket for a simple job, an ya could get a lubemobile van to bleed ya brakes

Couple of other things to consider...You need to change the rotor/disc too as they have a 20mm difference between the two...If you use gsr discs with evo calipers the pad will be overhanging the disc... If you are changing to evo discs on a gsr the backing plate will scrub on the discs because evo discs are 276mm while gsr are 256mm- you can bend the backing plate with multi grips if you can't get evo ones to put on instead or cut them to suit with a grinder...

use the same numbers as dba but you will find RDA do a rotor as well and it is a lot cheaper!

go a slotted! do go for a pad that is too hard or you will wear more disk than pad!

I had a set of endless 'race pads' (cant remember the numbers) and i got 7k out of the rotors!

it did stop extremely well, and concidering the rotors are very cheap, I wasn't worried!

Anyone know the DBA part number for the slotted Evo III Rotors?

Went to ABS, but the guy didn't have a listing for Evo III's in the DBA catalogue?

Cheers

They are definately available John... I've priced a set just recently
retail-$225 each for slotted
$250 each for slotted and drilled
for the front that is!

What's the go with upgrading the rears on the GSR?

Is it just the same process, i.e. swap out the rear GSR calipers for a pair of Evo 3 ones, then fit up some new Evo 3 Discs and pads?

That would explain why GSR owners only ever upgrade the fronts to Evo 3 spec....

Just don't want to fork out nearly $200 for a set of Evo 3 Project Mu brake pads, only to find they don't fit the GSR, that's all....
