Hey. My fuel guage is playing up. It randomly comes in and off.

I'm running a stock evo3 set up in my coupe with stock tune and Evo fuel tank. Wondering what kinda milage I should get off 98octane (Bp altimate) so I can keep an eye on the odometer. I only been driving this motor for a few days :p

That's what my na was running at. Ha ha ha. Was shocking :p where is a good place for a simple tune up. Or is it easy to do urself. What do you need?

Sweet

In saying this. My guage at times reaches full. But then will drop down to empty. Then slowely climb like it does when u first fill the tank. But sometimes not reaching halfway before dropping again. It was working previously but I've change tank and the tank loom. What would I test to source the problem

check the intank sender unit. my mums pulsar has a dodgey one will read empty on 1/4 tank put 10 bucks in and you've got half a tank again

never pulled one out except in my iold accord when i changed the tank. they're usualy on the fuel pump cradal so probably as hard to get to as the pump itself. places like global efi should be able to get you a new one. just hit them up for a new power tr unit ($170)

Don't know how everyone gets such poor fuel consumption..... not 100% sure on mine driving around the street, but Highway km's I'll get just over 400kms a tank. On a fairly modified 4g63t.

pic is of plug that is the tank loom in front of rear passenger seat, under the carpet. that goes through floor and into tank loom

your plug should be the same as the left one, my jumbuck is the right side plug.
note wire colours, black and black/blue are earth and power for the fuel pump. the 2 yellow ones are fuel level and low light sensor wires. the other 4 wires are abs sensor wires.
now, with the key at acc. need to earth one of the yellow wires. one of them will light the low fuel light, the other will make the fuel guage read full, unplug plug to get fuel gauge to read empty. maybe leave yellow wire earthed for some time (week or so) and if you notice fuel gauge reads anything other than full then it is probably your dash gauge. if it is unwavering in its full fuel level, then it is your tank sender that needs changing.
