I searched the 5 pages of "swaybar" in the search function and only found reference to GSR and EVO3 front sway bars.

Anyone tried the Ultra Racing 23mm rear sway bar for the EVO3? I personally thought it may be a bit excessive in size. But have
Otherwsie what rear swaybar are you using?

the biggest Whiteline one you can get...i think its like 22mm.. Felt much better once it was installed

hmm weird...i'm sure it was there when i brought mine but maybe it was the GSR one...i'll have a look at the part number on the swaybar on monday

The largest rear swaybar Whiteline have in their CC Lancer GSR range is the "XHD" 20mm.

Just bought one from Online Performance - they were having a bit of a sale on them on eBay just recently, maybe they still are?

I think there is a post in there somewhere from GSRWRC stating that the UR ones are a bit too big at 23mm.....IE excessive....Thats why I settled for the 20mm whiteline.

Which reminds me Ill have to update the swaybar thread as I have some more tips and tricks, AND pics to share.... :)

I'll look forward to reading that Dane, I'm going to be dropping the gear out of the arse of mine soon enough so it might be time to upgrade the rear swaybar.

i put the whiteline rear bar in and it still understeers, small improvement over the stock rear but I think i need to drop the front E1 bar down in size. Anyone know of a smaller bar that fits E1 without changing the mounting points?

best thing to do is upgrade to evo 2/3 front end, not cheap but it drops the front bar size by about 5mm from memory

You can convert to the CE9A front antiroll bar if your shocks have the eyehole mount for them. I recommend changing to the CE9A front arms at the same time (None of this pressed steel CD5A/CD9A rubbish). If you're still running the Evo I arms you might be able to have a suspension place make custom links for the CE9A bar.

A mate of mine runs no bar at the front at all and an Evo III 18mm rear bar. He prefers a tail happier car than I do though, I much prefer a car thats neutral with slight understeer a the limit. I'm running a basic CE9A front suspension setup (subframe and antirollbar with modified Evo 5 arms), with an Evo I rear antirollbar

Best thing you can do if you already have coilovers is a good alignment and set up, i had my E1 corner weighted properly by Racetige in Sydney, made all the difference, and cheaper than replacing a heap more suspension componentry.

Even the best coilovers in the world won't cure body roll!

Like Whiteline say, better sway bars is probably the best "bang for your buck" change you can make to your suspension setup.

Ok I have done my write up about the fitting of swaybars.......not that tchnical becuase there was so much infor mation before I wrote it!

I have a OEM front and custom 23mm WhiteLine rear sway-bar and I love it. The car is very directional and goes exactly where you point it.
It did take a little while to get the handling sorted though. It tended to be a little too taily but once I played with front to rear ride heights it settled down a bit. I still get a little oversteer coming out of the corner but it's quite manageable ... and a little bit of fun :D

If you bring the car down to Brisbane sometime go and see Ken at Accurate Suspension and get him to set it up and if he suggests it then get the swaybar.
