evo 3 to build or to buy

hi just debating whether to build a forged short block or just to buy one any one got some info and or prices on the subject

Depends on what kind of setup you want..paying someone to machine and assemble? To stroke or not to stroke?
Guessing somewhere between 3-5k

well i can assemble and can get it bored machined and acid cleaned next two nothing 2.1 or 2.2 is what i was thinking ?

Do you mean buy a brand new forged short block or second hand?

I bought one second hand a while back which was supposed to be ready to run, unfortunately it wasn't the case an cost me another four grand to rebuild it, plus the car was off the road for six weeks which was what I was trying to avoid.

So if you are thinking second hand have a real good look at it first, if I was to do it again I would just have rebuilt the 6 bolt that was in it.

I have an evo2 engine here in bits, block and head is ready to be taken to get machines and cleaned asking $3500

Comes with brans new still in box, je pistons, eagle rods, arp head and main studs, ACl bearings, complete gasket kit, s/s valves, bronze guides, hks cams, bc valve springs and retainers, 3g lifters... plus might be more

that sounds sweet as dont have that much to go into her yet tho main word yet
would have but 3 flat tyres, blown turbo, clutch ,cv shaft , windscreen and a few other things then there is the other car so yea starting to get the fund together now hopfully in the next couple of months
