Hey guys, can anyone recommend a good turbo upgrade for the evo 3. I need one that has the outlet facing down so I can clear my J-pipe but still want to use the standard manifold and still internally gated. Still want it to look reasonable stock, thanks.

I will have an ATP TD05 20G for sale soon Duane. Has only done 5000km since rebuild and features a 'Sierra' exhaust wheel, ported wastegate, BA Falcon wastgate flapper. Comes with all lines, a 3" split dump pipe that looks really well made plus Trikfab custom 3" thin wall aliintake pipe (polished) a 4A Air filter (done 200km) and silicone joiners to suit .

Looks good mate but it still has the turbo outlet in the wrong place, I need it facing down cos my piping goes to the right hand side of the car

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure the compressor cover can be clocked into any position?

I had a similar challenge on my old setup Duane. You can take a few courses of action. I opted to have a bracket made that bolted to the compressor housing using the two tapped holes that were already there for the original wastegate mounting point, then had the wastegate assembled to that.

You could also plug the existing holes in the compressor housing and drill/tap new holes to suit the new configuration.

Biggest thing is to ensure the wastegate actuator rod is not on too severe an angle.

Yeah I might give it a go, save money on a turbo but upgrade always sounds good to me just not the missus

I have a GTpumps 20g that might interest you. It's minus the Ex housing (due to being cracked). It's an EVO 3 16g with a 20g compressor wheel machined to fit the stock front housing.

I bought it but have never used it, it has 2000k on it since rebuild.
