If everything goes as planned we'll be wiring up Evo 7 ECU into RVR this weekend and we'll start tuning it.

I'll keep you posted.

7 is good. There is mode for 7 that you can run dual maps. People run e85 and 98ron tunes with it.

Evo 6 is fine too.
It's only because I have all hardware and software to tune 7 we choosed 7.

They all need some wiring swapped. Also some bins need some of peripheryies disabled so you don't get fault codes.

4 plug late evo ecu has the same plugs like rvr so you can plug rvr wiring loom into late evo ecu after you swapped the wires.
Late evo has 4 plugs and rvr only 3 but 3 is enough to run your car with late evo ecu. ;)

Good news. ECU is hooked up and the car is running great with JDM Evo 7 ECU.
Car drives smoother with new ECU and after the light tune it pulls all the way to red line on 21psi without any hesitation or knocks logged ( It recorded some knock at the beginning but we tuned timing maps to clear them )

I'm happy that everything went well and we will monitor the car for next week or two and keep logging and modifying if necessary.

Great work. How come no speed density? How many sensors needed changing? Iv found those evo 7 and 8 timing maps to be rather aggressive. Can you use the evo 9 ecu and dissable mivec and the extra cam sensors??

SD could be done but for power we make on this one it is not needed. Few wires to swap and it's up and running.
evo7-8 maps are a bit aggressive due to a fact that they're tuned for jap 102ron fuel. We had to retard timing a bit at high load to eliminate knocks. The car hits loads of 220-240 which is great.
Evo 9 ecu could maybe be used but I don't see a reason to go for it when it is not cheaper then other ecu 5-8 so why bother.

hey Mio, can the outputs be reprogrammed, for say nitrous or water injection?

Mate, I'm sure it can be done. Late evos have manual and auto intercooler spray controlled through ecu. This could be used to spray nitrous or water injection. Most if not all controls in ecu are adjustable with use of ecuflash so it can be modified to suit it purpose.
