hey guys

a couple of months ago i picked my self up an import evo 8 . i want to do a 2.4 stroker with maybe a 20G ish turbo . i just want a mad angry street car and i also go to the odd track day . lookin for around the 300 to 350 ish Kw at the wheels . i am after your ideas on what bottom end to run and what turbo you guys think , im just looking around and doin my research at this stage . oh , and i hate lag , lol
 
try a nine turbo. K1 technologies crank, eagle rods are fine, wiseco pistons are pretty good but then there are heaps of pistons to choose from.

throw in some cams while your at it.
 
those cams would be fine....

i have some parts that i would be interested in selling.... brand new.

eagle stroker crank and rods..... let me know if your interested.

when i got the crank it needed some work on the oil gallery screws....been fixed now and is ready to go.

rods are still in box
 
Springy Motors has built a 2.4L with a 20g turbo.
It won't net you 350 kw's.

The turbo is just too small.
Check out the general section and look at the power run comparison thread. There is a dyno graph over there.

ok , well the only other turbo i have been thinkin about is something around the GT35/40R , i dont want a lag monster but i want that power figure at least , lol . what snail would you think will be a good comprimise ? .

GT3540R with .82 exhaust hosing :thumbsup::thumbsup:

3540 should get u past 300kw and they usually hit full boost at around 3500rpm on a 2.3 stroker

they dont hit "full boost" that early, producing boost yes but not full.

you need a 2.6 and a 25g

Is that still the 4g63 or not ? . 2.6 sounds like a hell of a lot for a stroker kit . . . who makes that one ? .

how might one go about gettting 2.6 out of an evo 8 ? .

hmmm... 4G64 stroked maybe???

the 4G63 only has one displacement specific... 2.0

4G64 is a 2.4 (2.35) variant

Hey brian what do the k1 cranks look like?

any good?

which one do you have do you know?
the lightweight or normal one?

300kw streeter = Death or death of licence, and if you go fulll house like that for the track your gonna need,
Clutch upgrade
Brake rotor/pad/lines upgrade
The best cage you can afford
Suspension upgrade up your ass

Big Hairy Balls and a fair bit of skill.
I don't know your driving history or anything mate but you would be better off throwing money at handling/brakes and a bolt on/tuned 220/250kw 2.0L IMO
 
^ my thoughts exactly.
It gets to a point say mid 200's when it really is wasted and very dangerous for you, others, your wallet and licence driving on the road imo.

Hey Seono nice to see you found 4GT with a 2.4 stroker I'd be heading in the direction of one of Mark Boxel's CT9A 22g's just ask Theo what he thinks of this Turbo to 2.4 will use all of its power range bigtime.

Or speak to Kyp from Advanced Turbo Performance (ATP) here in melbourne. One of his 'gold' turbos in on a car in melbourne, its a standard evo9 with a tune and bolt ons running e85. Ran 11.8 from memory on a stock clutch over 300kw ATW..

stock motor too, not too bad of a turbo i think.. but give him a call http://www.atpturbo.com.au/
