I can see the value in it because its an EVO 3 gearbox, transfer case and rear LSD diff package and they dont come by too often anymore. It also comes with 1 month warranty so a buyer has some protection at least.
The alternative is to buy a used gearbox for $800-$1200 with no warranty, plus a few hundred more for the transfer and LSD diff anyway, bring it home and go to the trouble of fitting it only to find out that it crunches, whines and has broken internals (costing hundreds if not well over a grand extra to rebuild), with no comeback to the seller.

You could try TMR.

I recently brought a brand new RS EVO 3 gearbox from them.

I got it $3200 from them, Not sure if they have more stock or not.

But cheap for a brand new box.
