i recently just purchased a Evo II, and i need to get new/upgrade my breaks and disc, does this car share the exact same vr4 galant parts and ....

also from what i read on this site and on other sites that the syncro's go as my 5th gear sycro is messed up. i am going to put shockproof in and see if that helps and also check the linkage to the gearbox.

RDA slotted rotors & EBC greens are a good package, lots of people use

I recomend braided brake lines also, this really makes most of the difference

Welcome to Team4G! You should show off your car in a member's ride thread! Not too many EVO 2's around thats for sure- we cherish them around here!!

To answer your first question- yes the discs and pads are the same from facelift JDM and ADM VR4's. They use the 276mm front discs. The calipers are different though, as the VR4's use a straight fitting, where the EVO's use a banjo bolt setup.

SIVART hit the nail on the head as far as upgrades are concerned. A full system bleed with new fluids is also a good idea!

this may help:

"You do not need to remove it from the car!!!
The easiest thing to do, is take the cover off, remove 5th gear, and post some pics. You'll need to remove the nut, knock out the pin holding the selector in place and then remove the gear/hub/synchro etc.
You may only need to deglaze the synchro, or you it could be the engagement teeth on the gear. If the hub is damaged/worn, you can run the 5th gear one the opposite way, to save some $$$. It all comes down to how much of it is in need of repair.
If its just the deglazing, its a simple repair, and cheap. If it requires 5th gear, etc, it adds up."

Do not put in shockproof in trying to fix a mechanical issue full stop.

SHOCKPROOF is not recommended for our gearboxes

Shockproof actually wears away our syncro's rings, apart from that it actually leaves their infamous (shockproofs so called friction modifier) "THE POWDER" everywhere in side your gearbox , all through oil journals and promotes clogging.

If you have stripped down a mitsu box that has had shockproof in it you will understand why not to use it.

And if you have just bought it who knows what oils have been thrown in it already.....

Use the correct specified viscosity oil only.

shitty, i put in already but it works great i'll make note for changing soon. i can do i when every realy. my bud skyline has the shockproof and he is putting 700whp down and is workings great and i know r32 gt-r trannnys are iffier then the evo one. ill just go pick some mt-90 or syncromesh
