Help Support 4GTuner:

OK can we please stop with the:

this guy did this time using a hybrid

The point made was technically the ARE style ics are better.

None of us can say with any conviction that the difference is worth the extra money and thats also very subjective.

Lets all hold hands sing koombyeyah and wait for the results of jstyles tests.

now that satria is PHAT !!! i like it

i'd still use a tube and fin core over a bar and plate core for the matter

prob that too, but just for the matter that a tube and fin core is designed to flow better than the bar and plate.

comparing the blitz LM cooler on my old 180 (tube and fin) and my mate's copy hybrid cooler on his VL (bar and plate), after a round of trashing the cars, go and touch both the end tanks of both coolers and u'll find out why one product is more superior than the other. the copy hybrid bar and plate cooler is hot as on one side of the end tanks. and the intercooler on the evos looks to me like a tube and fin design, so i dun see why there's anything wrong with it.

no offence but i'm not a big fan of hybrid or hybrid copies.

but perhaps the new hybrid tube and fin could be better tho.

my 2c

coolers on car.. piping is done..
painting it all today.. i have about realistically 1.6m worth of piping on the hot/cold sides, which is a BIG improvement over stock.. which i think is probably about ~3m worth of piping.

cooler is painted black and fits nice and snuggly into a genuine e2 bar or a fibreglass e3 bar (cuttin involved in the e3).

Calder Park Friday night (tomrorow night)
Dyno Comp Saturday - realistically expecting about 200kw having run 118/76mph
Heathcote Park Raceway on Sunday if it rains on Friday!

Pics and results will be put up later on.

is it just me, or are your indicators different colours?

also, are you going to sell your evo cooler?

Indicators different yes.. cos i lost one and i had a spare so i replaced.. but ive got another set which i picked up the other day so they will be going in after the paint job.

not selling it at this stage.

Made 219.7Kw today..
Had only 1 run due to the car over heating and was pleased with 219.7kw so i just told them to turn the motor off.. it was running at 10:1 AFR which means that it has alot of fine tuning left in it.. car has potential to make alot more power once ironed out.

For you non believers... Not bad for a hybrid cooler... id recommend it.. id also recommend that you try to find the shortest route to the cooler!

nice one jon!!! :D

is that with the big 16g? 20psi?

yerp..

obviously it can pick up more power once i retune the factory ecu.. which will be happening soons.. also got to fix the over heating problems..

If it didnt overheat im confident to say that it would of seen close to 230kw + but 219.7kw isnt something to be unhappy with..!!! Even on the stock Evo bottom end..

what was the reason for it overheating?

is the cooler you're using a genuine hybrid or a copy?

Im not sure.. maybe its cos my fans werent working.. (which i ended up hard wiring) or maybe its got to do with my motor internally.. that i am unsure of at the moment.. however ill work it out and let ya know.

The cooler itself is not a genuine hybrid however i was told it did come from the same shop.. looks the same.. and obviously does work.. it cost me $150 + $20 freight.. not bad for a cooler worth under <$200
