hi all,

purchased an evo rear lsd off here a while ago, plan on installing it soonish but I recall reading somewhere that I will require longer bolts to bolt the gsr gear onto the lsd, is this correct or have I mixed some info up here?

If it is correct where might I acquire said bolts?

Cheers

Ian

You really should be using the longer bolts when running any front LSD - doesn't matter if its viscous or mech because it has to screw all the way down through the crownwheel, LSD cover and deep into the bottom LSD housing (which is also threaded).
Mitsubishi ASA lists both part numbers for long and short bolts for LSD and normal open diff in a manual transmission.
The 'normal open diff' bolts are short at 22.5mm long with part number MD040557. If using on an LSD they screw partly into the bottom LSD housing - maybe half way.
The longer LSD bolts are the same as Auto flex plate bolts with part number MD952231 . Size is 12mm x 29mm.
Torque for the bolts is 132Nm. A set of 8 bolts is about $50 from Mitsubishi.
Looky at pics of my old Ralliart LSD and you can see thread all the way to the bottom of the housing. All LSD's are the same.
The longer bolts have the extra 7mm worth of thread to engage deeper into the housing and reduce chances of the bolts backing out or sheering off.
I think you're safe George because you have all your bolts wired in to stop them from backing out or working loose anyway.
