Hola,

I have 2 rear diffs from 2 cars and want to find out more about them all i can see stamped on it is 33 B 11 and 43 B 08 there is some letter/number in front but cant decifer it.

thanks in advance

Mark out a dot point at the 12 o'clock position on the end where the driveshaft bolts onto. Then mark a dot point at the 12 o'clock poaition on one of the sides for the axles.
Spin the axle side 10 times, counting each revolution when the dot point reaches 12 o'clock. Whilst spoinning the axle, count how many times the driveshaft spins.
One turn of the axle should spin the driveshaft several times.
When you have your answer, let us know :)

If these are evo or gsr diff and if the diffs are out of the car...remove the rear cover and count the teeth on both the crown{larger gear} and the pinion{smaller gear}. the divide the crown figure by the pinion figure and that with give you the ratio. there is no gasket under thge rear hat so just reinstall with some silicon and tighten back up.

Thanks for all your replies

I thought I might be able to get the info i wanted like which evo, LSD etc from the stamp but looks like its alot more complicated then that. There is 1 diff on my car so ill try open the other one up when i get some time.

Cheers for the insight guys

There's a few other things to help detemrine what they are (ie viscous or mech rear lsd) so if you can just take a pic of the hole where the axle is, get a nice flash so we can see deep inside the diff whilst both cv cups have been removed, we'll be able to tell you.
