Hi All,
Just wanted to let you all know that there is an Evo Vs WRX challenge this Sunday (8th) at the Speed-Dome in Midvale.
You can catch the action from 9:30am to around 12:30.
Then after that there is the monthly Superkhana that is open to all types of cars.
See here for details: http://www.classicrally.com.au/

Did you compete in the event at the end of january?

I will be there for the last hour... then supporting two mates racing in the arvo session...and not racing cause my engine is apart ATMO :(

Do you know if they let GSR's Race in the "Evo V's Wrx's"

I don't know about that one. I will definately ask for you though. I really don't see why not.

I went in the afternoon. it wasnt bad ....good mix of cars. It bought back some memories listening to the bellow of webers on some of the old school cars.

I was there for most of the morning... got to see most cars go around 3 times... one thing to note (and not giving anyone crap) is that the evo lads were scared to get wheelspin off the lines... the wrx's seemed to be going a little harder... some very nce automobiles down there!

and poobies are the ones know to smash boxes
toughen up ego drivers, normally all the evo drivers are the rich boys, never started from the bottom and worked their way up.
now i mean no offense to the many many evo drivers that are very good people and know mitsus like the back of their hands

one bloke in a 7 did their box when launching...

Yeah a silver Evo (I thought it was a 9) blew his GB on the first launch. He said he was only doing 4,000 RPM but it sounded more like 8,000 RPM!
We had push the the thing back to the pits.
There were some issues with the timing as well.
A couple of people didn't agree with their times/penalties etc.
Next event is at Jack's Hill on the 3rd of May.

Oh yeah Brian, The organisers said that GSR's are allowed but they will give preference to Evo's.
I think it was his only car unfortunately. Around $4000 for a new GB ...Ouch :(

it was SMUTT asking if he could have a go , not me. but thanks for the info anyway.

the guy that blew his box up.......maybe he could find a second hand box to ease some of the money pain.

Oopps my bad :D

Apparently he had a triple plate clutch
and just side stepped it on the first lauch and boom!!
A lesson to young players: Allways make your clutch the weakest link :D
