Hi
Im considering a evo x as my next daily driver and im after some info on the gear boxes but i cant find anything on the net.
The main question i have is how strong are the mr boxes?
I really want a manual and i am really disappointed the mr doesnt have a manual option but the mr is the model im after.
I know i could always convert it but id hate to think of the cost since the model is only 2 years old.
If i bought something this new i would preffer a bit of suspension work ,exhaust and ecu tune which would proberly less then the manual conversion.
Why would mitsubishi only have the auto clutch less option only in mr in the first place.

The SST double clutch gearbox, with the right oil and tuning in the ECU has proven to be VERY tough. They are appearing to be quicker than a 5 speed manual EVOX
around Mallala race circuit here in Adelaide as well....PM me for more details if you are serious about upgrades etc Cheers Mike

Well I've been in a X MR SST running 2 bar and 4 people on board. It was quick and engaged gears really quick, felt very strong and didn't slip one bit.
I luv my manual boxes but this did change my thinking about the clutchless shifting...
