hey guys

well today was my lucky day, a friend of mine and the mrs her father works for a particular auto magazine. im not allowed to say his name or who he works for.... yet.
he has one for the next week before they take it to a test track and run their speed tests and then hands back the keys.

he took me for a drive in it tonight, now he gave it a little go and well its awesome. now i havent been in and evo 8 or 9. but this thing grip like it was on rails.

the only thing i dont really like about it was the lack of turbo noise and exhaust note, but how hard would it b to change that.

anyway its very nice seats a quite tight and really supportive in lumber and lateral support in the corners. brakes are quite nice, i didnt get to drive it but they are not very spongy.

well thats my 2cents about the new evo x.

interested in what every one else had heard/seen or experienced.

there built to be a bit less of a ruffer ride, but still quite a agressive car, we kitted one up at work with the full body kit etc in white and it looks awesome, i will grab a picture of a few soon

Yeah I can see that's one of the most crucial issue's you have to be extremely worried about when buying a car Haahahahaaa

NOT:rolleyes:

I think it's really amazing that design and engineering teams can keep producing faster, stronger and cleaner cars while still adhering to the new Euro 3 emission laws and keeping the consumers happy. Not to mention cars with characteristics like the Evo X and still having the safety and 'fuel economy' down pat. I think they must be very very smart people.

I think for the 380 to go to Euro 4 it just needs one more muffler! Or is everything complying with Euro 4 now? I don't remember. I remember being told by a Mitsu trainer that in the 380's they have the electric throttle bodies set to slightly delayed so that it passed the noise test. At a certain point you had to flatten it, and the exhaust noise was measured at that point. But due to the delay by the time the exhaust noise was measured the car was like 2 metres past the point so its Exhaust dB was low enough to pass...sneaky sneaky.

well i think they brought the db down further now to 87 from 90 which suks, some of the competion evos are running 2 resinators

Sounds like fly by wire or whatever it's called. Used in BA falcons and such too that i know of, not sure what other cars use it.

Illegal in FSAE motorsport events.

I think the Evo X is softer as a standard package to broaden it's target market. Fair enough. However, being typical Mitsubishi, it's been engineered to the nth degree and from the reports that I have heard and read, it's modification base is leaps and bounds ahead of it's successor. That's much more than what I can say about the new WRX and WRX STI which continues to be critisized in every car comparison around the globe. The beauty about this is, it makes the new Evo look even better!!!:D
