They dont. They are the same. Interesting fact that the Evo II and III usually have exactly the same 'big 16g' turbo even though it is documented that Evo IIs have a small 16g.

compared the new evo 3 exhaust manifold that i got from mits
and the old one off my evo 2 and they are totally different inside
and out.

the evo 3 one has a different runner set up where it enters the
turbo flange area. looks like it would flow alot better.

maybe they have now super seeded all to the same manifold
if they have the same part number because they are not same

got pics...

sure that the new mani just doesnt have those fins where the runners meet... on a lot of old manifolds they tend to wear down...

Exactly, sometimes I wonder what's real and what's hype when real life evidence contradicts what's considered to be fact. Someone I know got an EVO 2 frontcut and cast onto the compressor housing was 49178-01460 but pulling it apart and measuring the compressor wheel it was the same specs as the big16G EVO 3 turbo :? I can only come to the conclusion that some EVO 2's also came with the big16G and stamped '01460' on the compressor housing, before they made the '01470' EVO 3 turbo.

they are different inside and out,top and bottom.

on the outside and inside the runners are different, the flange sits different.

at first i didnt really notice, then looking closely i noticed

little differences here and there, then realised that it was totally different.

will get some pics up when i find my camera.

any one know where it is?
