Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out where my oil is going at the moment...

I can see where some of it is going, literally see...

1. The breather isn't connected to the air intake and has the hose pointed at the gearbox, so a fair bit of oil is going there.

2. There is oil seepage around the oil cap, and yes, it has a brand spanking new seal on it.

3. The dipstick hasn't blown out yet.

4. There's no blue smoke, just black coming out the back of the car.

Could it be that I'm blowing all my oil through the PCV valve and out of the breather hose?

The hose that conencts to the inlet pipe is just a breather for the rocker cover, you will get oil out of it,how much im not sure..not alot though...the other hose has a check valve in it and connects to the inlet manifold..it opens only when the car is on vac, closing on boost to prevent oil contamination into the cylinders at high rpm..Run both into a catch can and see how much you get out.

Same prob here. Are they just a **** design?
even the ralliart one leaks.

which would mean your probably not geting excessive blowby..which is good.

How much oil do you get back out when u do a change.
Losing 1 to 1.5 Litres can be normal on these things.

do a leakdown test mate
see how the rings are holding up...

also, sure its not leaking out of the bottom of the dipstick??? (because its not even bolted to the block)

if your burning too much, you could possibly try a thicker oil if it is getting past the rings, maybe go for a 15w40 or so? instead of the 10w40

good point! i should get onto fixing that hey! :p
i might try the thicker oil this time around and see how it goes.

i just did the oil change tonight...

lots of oil that has leaked out of something and down onto things like the sump, etc.

i looked at where the dipstick goes into the block, and it seems as though that's where the leak is coming from.

i also bought some Nulon 15w50 synthetic oil and filled it up with that, so we'll see how it goes.

time for a catch can i think!
