i believe some people say that its due to the shock loading during hard launches and the applied torque loading . and others say its not . . .
there is merits in both sides of the argument , i try steer clear of it to tell you the truth because everyone you talk too seems to have a different take on what causes crank walk ! ? !
I had a Exedy 3 puck paddle clutch in mine a fair while back , it was quite harsh and i ended up having to go to solid mounts to help stop the engine swinging around ! . after heaps of heavy driving / track days i never had a problem as far as crank walk is concerned . Engine was spool forged with big 16 g and all the goodies . . . i was running an NA crank in that motor because when the engine machinist measured everything up after i spun a bearing i was told that i had 'walk' in the first place and that the crank was unusable cos of the spinner ! . . . And i had a standard clutch at that time with not even a boost increase and they told me i had walk , so its got me beat ! .

It seems like the only concrete and sure reason not to get crank walk or way not to get it is a 6 bolt motor lol.
Ive seen the topic debated so much on other forums and there some actual good info and theories around amongst all the bullshit. But guys still build all out motor and they walk, or they do all this extra work to try stop it being able to get crank walk and after all that i seem like they may have been better off building an converting to a 6 bolt motor in the first place, coz it walks.... ooo wait for the shit fight to start after that statement. It just doesn't seem like you can stop it, some don't get it making big power on stock 7 bolt blocks, and some spend big dollars building a motor and still get it!

If it was the clutch you would think the 6 bolt would do it too?

My thoughts which a lot of people for a long time have not believed(seems magnus now believe also) is that the
check valves on the oil squirters jam open and bleed off the oil pressure to the thrust bearing.
this was also common in starions way back when.
6 bolts I believe have a seperate gallery hence they dont have the same issue as the 7 bolts.

Troy (jetgsr) has modified his thrust washers so they receive more oil I think.

Thanks for that I'm trying to hit Exedy first see if I can interchange it with there heavy duty, already spent 680 bucks on the cushion button kit.
That's exactly what I thought evan coming from the Exedy website they say it's streetable, as long as it's not like brass I'm happy I wonder why most people say they shutter on taking off though just not keeping the revs high enough.
