i dont have a heatshield on my exhaust housing anymore, will the heat from that affect the cooling of the radiator?

should i find another heatshield, or get a new one made up?

The major problem is the crossover intercooler hose (from turbo across top of manifold) will harden and crack with some time. Mine's almost gone... when it dies, i'm getting hard pipework.

a lot of heat comes off that mani, my ss headers got so hot on the track that the plastic cover over the plugs started to melt!

i'll be making up a heat sheild when i move to victoria
i still have the heatshield on the manifold
and ive removed the heatproof matting stuff on the inside of the bonnet

just gotta get some e1/2/3 vents put in above the manifold

Do the vents pretty fast or the paint on your bonnet will start to bubble on hot days. I have scorch marks on the heatshield matting on my original bonnet

you didnt have a heatshield though did you?

i ran my bonnet without the fabric stuff without the heatshield on the manifold or dump pipe...

only problem i got, steaming on wet days.. although i had the bonnet raised at the rear with some washers/bolts

I don't have the heatshield on mine - i decided not to put it back after i pulled it off one day and found an *extremely* cracked manifold underneath! I prefer to see mine thats all.

I agree that it may cause problems with the piping but i guess if u plan on getting hard piping it should be fine. Vents are a good idea. You can definately feel that extra heat when you pop the bonnet.
