Diamonds are forever....
My RVR's timing belt tensioner has failed. The car ran perfectly up until this point, but I have the feeling that it might have a couple of bent valves. This car has been a pleasure to drive, and has never let me down, until now. Never assume that the tensioner was done at the last timing belt change!!!!!! <_<
Anyways......
Good points:
-Car is a 1994 Sports Gear RVR
-5 Speed manual W5M332 WMXL 3.909 with viscous rear LSD
-226,000 kms
-4G63 N/A with 609 A.F.M and C.A.S in same spot as EVO's, not on cam gear like newer RVR's- perfect for 63T conversion
-K&N panel
-VR4 twin pots with slotted front rotors
-Lowered on RSR springs
-16" FTO alloy wheels
-5x stockies with heaps of tread
-Tinted windows with glare strip
-Central locking with immobiliser (drivers side recently stopped working though)
-30k kms old Exedy H/D clutch (would still have to be mint after powering an N/A)
-Meek brass shifter cable bushes
-Near new slave cylinder
-No roof rust
-Super Sports Gear cat back exhaust
-Climate control that blows ICE cold aircon
-Colour change instrument cluster (green/orange)
Bad points are:
-Unregistered (has been registered in VIC before)
-Paint is a bit faded and has a few scratches
-Valve stem seals need to be done
-Obviously would need to pull the head and replace the broken components, or if you feel lucky, bang a new t/belt on it and see if she still runs ok
-Slight knock in one of the front struts
-Small rip in drivers side tint from retracting seat belt
-Missing rear mats
-No bull bars or that ugly mirror (actually- isnt that a good thing? :lol
-No momo OR car stereo (they're coming with me :thumbsup
Driveline is in mint condition. Gearboxes can fetch up to $1000 by themselves, but I dont have the time, space or energy to wreck this car! Would suit someone who wants a cheap daily project, or someone who wants to bang in turbo motor or rebuild the one that is in there for a wolf in sheeps clothing.
I'm only after $1500 for this car, for Team4G members. I will also throw in a RVR Super Sports gear wreck that is rolling, that has mint panels from the doors back, mint glass (windscreens apparently cost up to $400 to replace just for the glass) that has 5-stud hubs, struts and 14" 5 spoke alloys and a bunch of other spares- turbo front pipe, turbo intake pipe etc. No turbo bonnet though.
Any questions, please ask. I will not separate parts. I need to move on to something else- maybe a 380 or Verada wagon.
Car is located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
