hey guy's! i've got a VCU centre diff that have taken out of my vr4 gearbox when i converted it to fwd. its an aftermarket unit by adelia. i've never heard of this brand before so i have no real idea on how much its worth. i'm just putting it out there tho.

thanks guys!

hrmmm. replace viscous centre with locked and start destoying drive train.. tough call :p

What are these worth.?
Would they fit a GSR ? (Non 2L drivetrain, 1.8l)

From memory this thing was taken out of a 4wd box when it was converted just for Fwd duties, as it was found to be an aftermarket unit the owner decided not to destroy it by welding it up or it was able to be completely removed once another part was welded up. It is just an aftermarket replacement part designed to be better than stock isnt it? not locked or anything....

i thought it was a locked centre unit. i think baz used to have one
in the vr4?????

by the bolts on it, it looks like its locked :p

Plus im sure this isnt the part u need to weld to make it FWD

hey guy's! sorry for the late reply. just on holidays. um yeah i took it out of my galant vr4 RS gearbox when i converted it to front wheel drive only. it's just a part that replaces the stock unit and it has clutches inside it so it wouldnt be locked 50\50 torque i'm pretty sure. although the car i got the engine gearbox out of was a rally car..... so maybe it could be a 50\50 split..... all i know is it has to be worth more than 150 bucks. lol. does anyone know what the stock units go for at all? cause that would be a good starting point to see what this unit is actually worth i suppose.....

thanks guy's! kaya. :D

So can you take a picture inside the input hole? (ie the hole on the side without the bolts). What sort of centre diff did the gearbox have in it? Did you remove + replace it, or did you just weld the centre diff up? (if they're going to use a heavy duty VCU, they may have also had a better centre diff)

It seems highly unlikely they would try to lock the centre diff with such a complicated piece of machinery.
