I haven't been on here for a while, but I figure this is the best place to find a new home for it.

New daily driver is due end of June so the much loved Galant has to go.

Aus Spec VR4, stock apart from wheels and an exhaust.

Done as near as dosen't matter to 260K km

Apart from a small oil leak from the front steering rack its mechanicaly sound.

Paints a bit thin on the roof and the leather is worn on the gearknob and tiller otherwise its in reasonable nick.

I wouldn't lie and say its never been driven hard, but its always been maintained.

Would like $4K but will consider reasonable offers.

Its in Canberra

This was a couple of years ago, apart from the faded paint on the roof it still looks the same - I'll take a current pic in the next day or two.

It'd make an excellent first car, or a project. I can easily sell it for parts but I'm kinda fond of it and wouldn't really like to see it cut up.

Ph (EDIT: Removed by request - Ent)

Cheers
Daniel

 it's black! :D
any photos of paint on the roof?
how far away from roadworthy condition is it?
any known mechanical faults?
what maintenance has it had done?
receipts?

NICE car bloke........

GL with the sale

Who's early 70's Lancer in the background??? GSR???

Its road worthy (daily driver, has rego till mid July) The paint is starting to oxidise on the roof (clear coat polished through, typical Mitsibishi thin paint  ) but its intact (ie its not going to rust) The clear coat is also starting to peel on the boot spoiler, apart from that its pretty reasonable.

Mechanicaly its fine, as I said in the above post its leaking a bit of P/S fluid from the front rack, but I think its coming from the hose fittings so its probably not a money thing just time (anyone who's pulled a rack on a VR4 will know what I'm talking about). I bought it with 150K km on it and serviced it every 5K since. It started to use a bit of water about a year ago so I ripped the head off and changed the head gaskit, at the same time I replaced the valve stem seals, water pump, some other gaskits etc.

Gearbox, rightangle drive, diff etc are all fine, suspension - well its 260K old :?

Basicaly, its not a show car by any stretch of the imagination but its well maintained daily driver with a few km on it.

PS the thing in the background is a LA Lancer rally car - now also sold  (mortgage).

Go to Supercheap or similar and get some Lucas' oil treatment, it works wonders and stops pretty much any leak (unless it's bad) including power steering. You can even use the product at 100% strength it is that pure a product. I've only had positive results when I've used it.

Yeah I know they exist - but to be honest I don't trust them - the oil is a particular formula for a reason, once you start pouring in these types of things you change it, who knows what it does to moving parts down the line. Like I said its probably not an expensive fix, just a time consuming one - you can't get a spanner onto the lines going into the rack and I'm 80% sure all it needs is them given a bit of tweak.

penngwyne - I'm in no hurry to sell, new car isn't due till first week of July now anyway and I have the garage space for the VR4 once it arrives anyway. A couple of people have mentioned an interest, but nothing serious as yet.

After ROC I KNOW I could sell it for parts

Runs out mid July - but I'm happy to put a bit more on it if the price is right.

Being an a-spec, and considering a-specs were only released as manuals, I think it'd be safe to say its a manual.

lol  my bad, i gues im not tooo well informed on the specs of aus specs n jap specs :(

Sold - to the first person to look at it. 8)

Hope its as good to him as it has been to me
