Ferodo DS2500 for VR4 calipers?

Yes they are.

Phillcom Rally can source them, so can Racebrakes in Dandy. As for cost I think they're about 270 dollars for a pair of fronts?

Why are you looking at this pad anyway? You competing?

They squeal like BITCHES around town and they tear up your discs like nothing else.

thanks mate,

yeh i do a bit of trackwork and mountain driving and ive been having alot of trouble with brake fade using ebc pads (can't afford caliper & rotor upgrade), i heard the dc2500s had a good temperature rating and werent as hard on the rotors as something like endless cc-x s.

do u reconmmend a different pad? my major concern is reducing brake fade for track n twisties.

I must have some dodgey ones then as my DS2500's are as quiet as a mouse and after 5000 kms, have not worn the slotted RDA discs which were fitted at the same time enough to even form a lip at the outer edge.

They have however, caused enough heat to put quote a few heat spots on the rotors and turned the centres of my white oz racing wheels to a burnt yellowy-white colour (which doesn't want to polish out).

For short sprint work, i think they are very good.

I initally swapped to twinpots with slotted RDA rotors all around and ran DS2500's up front with EBC blackstuff down the back.

The DS2500's tore up the front rotors in under 10,000 kms so another set of rotors later I replaced the DS2500's with I think DS2000's????? which are like one step down and screaming up and down the dandy's I never had brake fade. But I did have twinpots....

Single pot calipers are a deathtrap and frankly, it cost me 300 dollars to upgrade to twinpots. Plus pads of your choice.

So Entaran, do you have a used set of DS2500's that you want to get rid of? :D

If you find that the pads are chewing out the discs, then its probably too much easy driving and not enough hard braking. But, after seeing the heat spots in my RDA discs, I don't think that they are super quality either.

I'm going with lack of build quality on the RDA discs. I think the slotted ones are slotted for looks and not made of anything particularly harder.

I'll have a looksee in the shed after I clean it out from all the shit my dad put in the during his renovation craze. They might be around.

Anyone who knows me and how I drive knows that VR4 didn't have an easy life and braking was no exception ;)

I currently use DS2500 pads all round on my car. The squeeling just drives me nuts. Breaking hard will help reduce the squeels. They are a good pad for light track work but the noise just kills me and other drivers on the road. Next pads I will move down to DS2000s all around with DS3000 or Endless Pads for track work.

Rly? what/how did u upgrade for $300?

Let's see... wreckers cost me 66 dollars for a pair of calipers, I spent about 250 dollars on teh discs give or take and had the pads sitting around.

That's just the fronts tho.

---

The total conversion ran around 800 bucks because I got slotted discs on all 4 corners, a set of EBC Blackstuff for the rear calipers, reco'ed the rear calipers, sandblasted/painted all 4 calipers, put the ds2500's in the front calipers and replaced all the brake lines in the car.

Brakes aren't expensive until you have to fabricate hats and brackets and shit.
