Hey guys, what is required for me to change my final drive in my evo 1 rs box to a high ratio?

Like a GSR Final Drive?

I hate going to 5th over a 1/4 mile......

What if i was to change the Reduction Gear Inside the Gearbox?
No one really talks about this? :/

Just looking for Ideas and best means to do this.

Change to
GSR Front Crownwheel 58
GSR Front Pinion Shaft 15
Front Diff 58/15 3.866
Transfer Case 24/22 1.090
Rear Diff 39/11 3.545
Changes final drive from 5.435 to 4.929

Reduction Gear Inside the Gearbox? if i add or reduce the amount of teeth on that?

That should change everything correct? Without having to replace all the other parts?

Shit. Most simple way would be a GSR box and rear diff but I guess it won't do you any good when it's in bits at the 60ft line. Can you change the centre diff in the E1 box, and a GSR crown wheel in the rear diff? But I guess that's what your already asking, and I don't know so ill just shut up and let the gurus help. :)

You'd need primary gears like 37/32 1.156
A primary of 1.157 makes your 4.260 front diff run a final of 4.929 & keep your tc & rear diff
Depends if the programing of the gear cutting gives you big enough teeth size for strength.
30/26 1.154 is another combo for stronger teeth. Prob can be made, but need a few orders to make it cheaper.
Could go even longer legs, but I'd have to see what the max size can fit in the manual box. I offered gear cutting a while ago.
Cheers

I run a ppg box with gsr front and rear cw&p and it has given me nice tall gears, I pull 200kmh in 4th at 7100rpm.

to work it out add about 11% to your current in gear speeds

EVO 1 gearbox
Open it.
Change the EVO 64 tooth front diff crownwheel to a GSR 58 tooth crownwheel.
Change the EVO 15 tooth output shaft and change it to a GSR 15 tooth output shaft (different teeth! You must use EVO with EVO, GSR with GSR)
Close gearbox.

Transfer case
You have an EVO 1 transfer case = 1.09
Its the same ratio as a GSR transfer case 1.09. Don't need to change anything.

Rear Diff
Open rear diff, take out the LSD centre if you have one installed and place it inside a GSR rear diff housing.
If no LSD, then simply just swap out your entire EVO rear diff housing and internals with a complete GSR rear diff housing and internals.

Benefits
Enjoy 3.545 rear diff ratio and crossing the 400m line in 4th gear.
Enjoy some fuel economy on the street and on the highway.
Enjoy a bit quieter highway driving = less exhaust noise.
It wont have as hard acceleration anymore but it makes up for it with longer legs in each gear.
Enjoy your new longer Evo 1 1st gear. You should get 70kmh in first and have a little bit more time to shift into 2nd gear after a launch.

if I ever change to a 2.0 or 2.2 ill go back to 3.9 and rev it. I get 270kmh in 5th now @ 7k so that's enough for most tracks (except maybe phillip island)
