G'day.
We ran at Urbenville on the weekend 28th April...WOO HOO. Great roads and good fun at the bar after.
The Clerk of Course needed a Fast Sweep for the event so I asked Phil Bonser into the silly seat as he had experience at the role and also experience in a 4wd car.
Running as sweep gave us a chance to adjust speed as we saw fit without the competition pressure.
The VR4 was worth every barked knuckle, bleeding head, late night, loss of nuts and bolts in the dirt floor of my not yet finished carport and the disappointment at missing Rally 'Q' as it goes like sheet of a shovel and thanks to the excellent brakes stops as well. We nearly ran down last car in a 17klm stage at the 13 k point, after giving him three minutes start, but slowed when we saw his tail lights.
Special Thanks to Steel Blue Industrial Footwear {Comfortable Steel and Poly capped work boots} for their kind Sponsorship!!!
Many thanks to Ross Perry, Bill and Duke at Saab Care for the many hours they put into the prep. Thanks to Brother Brett and Andy for the trips down to my place from the Coast to work on the car and thanks to Brett and other brother Kim for their fine efforts at Urbenville with the innovative manner in which they fitted a radiator catch bottle...LOL
Cheers,
Ross
See you at Benarkin end of May.
