Got abit of a problem with my boost controller.

I hooked up a Turbosmart Single Stage boost controller by unplugging all the vacuum lines of the OEM boost solenoid and plugging the Turbosmart T as per manufacturer's instuctions (wastegate actuator and intake mani).

The problem is that even if its on/off, the boost just keeps rising; ie the wastegate is not opening up?!

This did not happen when i had the OEM solenoid plugged in.

I want to run stock boost (10psi), and when the boost controller is activated I want it to run 15psi.

The engine in question is a CE9a 4g63.

keep the oem solenoid pluged in electrically wise regardless weather its not physically plugged into via boost vacuum lines as the ecu likes to see it still plugged in. This may help

Might be a simple oversight, but is it plugged in the right way? in reverse no vacuum would goto the wastegate and wouldn't open yeah?

just plugged the OEM boost control solenoid back in, everything works as normal. Which means its definitely not the wastegate that's malfunctioning.

Does anyone know how to test a boost controller if its operating properly??

Just a thought...
compressed air threw one side (side that goes to the plenum) and then a measuring gauge on the other side (hand would probably work?) and then enable/disable the boost controller and see if there is a change in flow.

With my turbosmart "bleed valve" style controller that died there was no change in the flow when I spun the adjusting knob to each extreme

so found out the culprit.

The person that had this controller prior to me disassembled the Tpiece valve and put the ball & spring the wrong way around

Once i reassembled it correctly, everything worked 100% !

15psi is gooooood :w00t:

good to hear you've solved the problem im still having the problem. if i put my stock bov on it sits on 12 psi and as soon as i put aftermarket bov it runs over 20psi. ive tried everything. think its time to give up and just leave it 12 psi

is your aftermarket BOV adjustable?

are you running a pressure source to your boost controller through the BOV pressure line?
