ok so recently there's been alot of talk about fuel on another forum i frequent. and the point of ethanol blanded fuels came up. now i use united 100ron e10 and love it and that the next logical step from that is the 108ron eflex. which got me looking into way i could get my car running on e85.
now unfortunately bowser eflex isn't true 85% ethanol and the only way to guarantee 85% is to buy it in barrels well i'm not that much of a die hard and my folk would kill me if i had barrels of fuel deliver every 4 weeks. then i came across so called flex fuel kits that claim to convert your standard fueled car into a flex fuel vehicle. these devices appear to be no more than a injector pulse interceptor with no way of determining the actual ethanol blend content some even go so far as to say your check engine light may come on and this is normal because your car may run to lean. (potentiometer) there are some kits however like tec2 that take reading from you obd port but again this wont tell the unit the ethanol content (or it might to a certain extend based on the o2 sensors readings.
so i pose the question to the 4gt members have you heard of these thought about using one?
if these truly are what they say then great i may just consider one but i'm not going to risk my very prone to failure 93 turbo on a pipe dream. that and eflex isn't quite readily available in my area yet.
