Hi all
Recently Mike Dale rebuilt my spare box, which means the box from the car is surplus to my needs.
Its a KM box, non switchable. Has about 110,000 on it, I believe. It does shift nicely, high RPM shifts into 3rd aren't great though (synchros not perfect), but it is a serviceable box. Comes with a transfer case that is probably dead, my yoke started to leak quite badly after the car was stolen and I think it copped a fair amount of abuse. There is some play in it.. it still works and it doesnt seem to make any noise, but its an alloy transfer.. your guess to its longevity is as good as mine.
Has steel shift forks too, which is probably why it shifts nicely.
Prefer not to ship it although of course I will at your cost.. I have no drain plug for it as the one from my spare box was toast, which is probably not good for shipping companies.
Would suit someone with an early japspec that needs a better box. 3.45 ratio; output spline wont match up to a-specs or newer jspecs transfer cases. Also the shifter cable locations are different to an aspec and later model japsec box.
Lets say $350?. I guess its something fairly rare, but not really that desirable.
You can rest safely in the knowledge that all proceeds from the sale will go into modifying a VR4.
What else..
I have a full set of stock springs, $20
Cyclone intake manifold, no vacuum gear, but I did find most of the bolts (it's dismantled) $30
A-spec VR4 grille, chrome good, mitsubishi logo faded, otherwise ok $30
Pick up only, sorry, I have no time to post it. Will probably add more stuff shortly.
