fp black power curve

a good trick for old cars is also to run a solid state relay to slow start the radiator fan..

does the relay get hot?
I have a big fat external and was considering doing this with the sm4.

Never even gets really warm, I got told I should be good without heat sink but just mounted it to a a bit of alloy square tube which i mounted a relay inside and a circuit breaker on the out side.

Wow an FP black for $600. What a bargain!
But a 2L with an FP black for circuit?
None the less, you're building a 2.3 so should match up better then.

The blacks are not worth much because no one wants them on street cars. I don't know about you but every time I look at that power curve I think how close to perfect that turbo is for the fast circuits we run at. It doesn't drop below 5k, just need to change your driving pattern to suit.

Caged, I understand where you're coming from and agree driving styles can accomodate. Always thought mid-range and torque was more important on a circuit.
I do have a 2.4L in my Evo with a MAP EF3 about the size of an FP Red. So thought an FP Black on 2L was a little odd.
None the less, it looks like it works well for you. I would've done the same if I got an FP Black for $600. Let me know if you find anymore. LOL.
