ok guys as per my wtb posts i'm about to embark on a new engine build ( a big one "for me")

the plan is
1.8l mivec turbo
with
forged rods
depending availabilty and price at time of requirement stock g93T pistons(8.5:1) or the higher CR sohc pistons (9.5:1) or forged pistons
mivec head
haltec ps1000 ecu with flex fuel sensor (to be used at a later time when i choose to upgrade fuel system)
evo 3 16g big (possibly upgrade to 20g later)

anything my shopping list is missing besides the regular rebuil bits timing belt water/oil pump etc

onto the tech question i know that mazda B6T rods have been used before are these directly comparable to g93 rods i've found the wrist pin is larger or smaller depending on which gen 93 is being used at 20mm but are the rod length the same etc.

something i have found in my reasearch is VW JETTA pistons match our bore CR disp etc and they run a 20mm wrist pin this appears to make the B6T rod compartible but will the skirts clear the crank/rods?

If the jetta has the same stroke as the 93 then will probably work.
The more important point is how does the pin height compare. Not to good if the piston stops half way down the cylinders or if they stick out the top...

CA18DET rods (machined to fit)
CA18DET main bearings
4AGZE Factory forged pistons (had to cut abit out of the skirt to fit but worked a treat)
chrome moly rings (hastings i think)
Cd5a ML HG
3SGTE head studs (abit tall but worked well)

what ever pistons you buy...ask ...is the pin offset. wiseco pistons in my daughters car make it sound like a diesel. BUT they take 25lb of boost.

do you need the mivec loom to run this setup or can you patch loom what missing from the gsr loom?

i'm going to be using a haltec ps1000 to run this so i'll be using a long lead kit and either using the mivec loom which i'll have (prefer not to use it as it make the other motor easier to sell.) but yes you probably can patch loom whats missing from gsr

pending my old blocks condition i will be going forged rods sohc 9.5:1 comp pistons the regular rebuild bits for a g93 the mivec head and haltec ps1000 from all reports this should hold up well it is after all predominantly a street car

ok more Q's for my frankenstien.

thinking i'll go head studs since 20 psi possibly more is on the cards is it mazda b6t that are the same?

looking to buy most everything else i need bar the rods soon since my pistons have been delayed FARK wanted to have this done by my birthday and been at the drags the next week rolling out 12's or better

so atm i'm looking at VRS gasket kits with hopefully a MLS head gasket inc otherwise a mls on it's own and studs to support the higher boost

there's 1.5mm ones out there. but for those that maybe interested it's good to know that no matter what the year listing 93 - 96 or 97 - 02 they're all the same despite different part numbers

thickness would be for the individual to sus out as different head/block grind level would dictate different gasket thickness also

when learning this i was more concerned with bolt pattern and oil galleries
