hey i just purchased a 93 gsr it has the fibreglass evo front bar on it. now living in the country and driving on a heap of dirt roads i dont want to destroy it. for this reason i want to change back to the gsr bumper

questions are:
are the fibreglass evo bars made to fit the gsr quarter panels, or do you still need to change to the evo panels?
is there any way to tell which quarter panels i have?
the gsr bumper bar im looking at has no reinforcement bar in it, does the evo bar use the same reinforcement bar, if not can i use a standard cc lancer front reinforcement bar or are the gsr ones different

thanks
mat

Most of them fit up to GSR guards.

Evo guards have a flared lip which is quite prominent.

Evo reo is different to gsr.

standard cc lancer are different to gsr (from what I have seen anyway)

Whats the difference between GSR reo and a CC Sedan reo??

Ive always thought they were the same

Yeah I'm fairly sure GSR an standard lancer reo's are the same...

Genuine EVO 3 reo's are different to the rest... But if your fiberglass copy EVO 3 bar has a reo in it, it will be either a gsr or standard lancer reo and should be good to go on a GSR bar skin..

I used to drive a lot on gravel as well. I found that my rear bumped was fiberglass. It used to get cracks appearing, like stars. From rocks flicking up at it. Had to get it fixed. The only time I damaged my front bumper was when I went through a dip in the road, and was on the breaks. So the front was down. It cracked along the bottom lip. Also my evo 3 side skirts got a thrashing from the front wheels. If I was working in the bush again, I'd put mud flaps on.
Loved driving an gravel! Great fun! Cost me lots to get the body kit back up to scratch. I avoid it now, scared I'd go to hard and wrap myself around a tree. Lol
Enjoy

I grew up on rolly gravel roads, and binned a few cars there. On 1 occasion I was playing up a bit and when finished I retraced my marks. Slightly furthur along the road was a friendly local waving me down. I thought he was bogged under the nearby bridge as it was the first day of marron season, so I stopped for him. Turns out he was a off duty cop from a nearby town and was upset at my noisy driving. He reported it to the local cops and I got in the poo.
In court I tried to get away with it. It was dangerous driving and I suggested that 400m of fishtails over both sides of the road including gutters with a turn and the same back could only be described as completely controlled and not dangerous.
To cut it short I walked for 3 months

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with my front reo. Does anyone have any closeup photos of the brackets circled in the picture? My piece of reo has nothing to line up to that it would bolt up to, i have a feeling I'm missing a piece

Whats so funny??

After speaking to Mitsubishi spare parts the part number for a 1994 CC Lancer GLXi Sedan is MB826385

Also checked it against a 1994 CC Lancer GSR and same part number MB826385

Price is $274

So to answer, yes they are the same, if you want to confirm then call Kloster Mitsubishi Spare parts on (02) 4922 0550

So I have no idea what Jamo is on about

I'd show you the brackets I've use there, but everyone would laugh and take the piss. :)

The funny thing is, that you said you have never had a GSR reo....but...you seem to know all about them.

but hey....what would I know?

Carry on.

And?

I was stating ive used a GSR bar with stock Lancer reo

I didn't say I knew all about them at all, I said I always thought they were the same, then clarified with Mitsubishi that they share the same part number as the GLXi

Whats your problem??

It would seem I don't have that white bracket that's part of the horizontal beam, were they only on the evos?

Don't panic, theres more than those two screws holding my bumper on :p

How not to do it. In my defence, it is a race car and I have been known not to give too much of a fuck. It can't be all bad, I was doing 197km/hr and smashed the wheels into the guards and it never come off. And I like my Frankenstein bolts, they rock.
