Hey guys,

Might be a tricky one - I want to can the standard front rego plate mounts on the EVO 2 front bar, and side mount a colour coded plate like the EVO 6-9s have.

Instead of running the actual plate, I want to get a vinyl sticker made up to match it (but smaller) out of 3M reflective vinyl (so it would be the same as if the plate was there)

Does anyone know if this is legal or otherwise? You see it all the time on Ferraris/Porsches/Lambos ...

any info appreciated

hey dan my missus had one on her mx5 for a few years and had no problems what so ever.
Then she was pulled over last year and was told she had to change it. So probably depends on the cop:thumbsdown:

i would only do it if vic roads ok it dan, save the headaches in the long run.

but as i said the other day i know of a few cars that have run them before

i dont remember reading anywhere in Vic roads PDF's on even having a front number plate.... back is a must but front never said anything...

So many dudes on EGO OZ had major beef with having their front plates mounted on the side, let alone it being a decal......

You're asking for trouble IMO, something you cant really afford to flirt with dan

Was it a white mx5 with numberplates cccc#

It parks basicly out the front of my house everyday!

Its illegal in every state in australia, I suppose it all depends weather you get pinged for it or not better than no plate on the frt go for it. I recon

I was running around without any frt number plate at all for over a year, got pulled in for a breatho and cop was going to pinch me untill I said it cam off and should be in the car.... I just zip tied it on and he let it go
after telling me it was noted on my rego plate records front number plate missing and said just dont get caught again with it off 1st time can be a warning second time its a fine.

So I made one up out of alloy sheet to relocate the plate never been pinched or had any issue's with it.
