Front setup for 5 stud conversion

Help Support 4GTuner:

This link seems more conversational of an entire build project, as opposed to a "how to" fit Evo IV hubs to a GSR/ Evo I/II/III ??

I really can't find anything apart from the occasional mention or pic of the 5 stud hub/disc/trailing arm assembly !?

F*ck it, this is all far too confusing for someone who isn't a machinist or mechanic by trade, or at least a very keen & experienced amateur mechanic.

I'll just grab some FTO fronts as per the evopwr's how to, and get my existing rears converted to 5 stud.

What wheel options are available once you do this though? Are you stuck with the same sort of eird offset problem encountered if going down the Evo IV path?

I thought you just wanted to see what was needed- not a complete how to...sorry man. :D
If your only doing it for the greater choice of wheels(ie later model evo wheels)- then evopwrs method would be easy way out for you....BUT if your doing it for the brembo side of things and the wheels, then its a bit more involved..from what I have gathered!

After reading through this thread I was wondering if the early model FTO up-rights (front) would fit on an Evo III?

Ok so just for my own clarification (as I do tend to get confused easily :))
Fronts = FTO uprights which are 5-stud (5 x 114.3), with four-pot calipers and approx 29 cm ventilated disks (?)
Rears = OEM Evo 3 hubs re-drilled to 5-stud or Evo 4 - 6 hubs with Evo 3 bearings (?)
Correct ?

Above is correct if your only after 5 stud conversion. If u want to use late model brakes u will need Evo 4-6 front knuckles and a bracket for the rear caliper.

I'm looking into this for later seems there is a lack of 4 stud rims, so if i get evo 4-6 hubs evo 3 bearing will press straight in? also is there a 5 stud disc to suit or do i have to redrill the evo 3 ones. (still going to run evo 3 calipers) cheers

hey sorry guys if some of this has been covered, i have read most of this.
i had gone through most of this at work for a mates car and for my own.
easy setup for front is the FTO front hubs, bolt straight on, and dont seem to mess up the alinement to much, not like the magna hubs.
they are 5x114.3 take a normal magna disc (cheap as shit) and bolt on the magna/evo twins easy as, really easy bolt on upgrade ( i also have some in the fs thread if anyone needs:) )
what i also found was, the front fto stub axels (the bit that presses into the center of the knuckle and bearing, can also be used in the rear. the spline count is the same, and will press right into the rear of the gsr/evo real control arm setup. easy then all you need if fto rear rotors, which take the same disc as gsr/evo just in five stud.
