1991 CB GSR two door hatch
This has been my baby car for many many years.
Engine and drivetrain: jap import 4g61t engine (legal conversion) low km engine out of half cut that had 103km on it and i have since put and extra 4thou on it. Very good condition. Standard internals. Have installed RVR sports gear TD04-15g turbo and late model manifold which perfectly suits the 1600 engine. Has custom intercooler piping into a vr4 rs intercooler and upto a 60mm throttle body. Only running standard boost. Has custom made solid polyurethane front and rear roll mounts, turbo model equal length drive shafts in great cond. Cyborg AWD gearbox locked to FWD. Had always been well looked after with only the best fluids used. This engine has not even been given a hard time as i had to get this car going for a daily driver. I found a bleed valve i had in the shed so i put it on and got it dynode up to a very safe 12psi, it made very responsive 100kw at wheels.
Suspension: custom made coil overs consisting of koni adjustable inserts un known brand springs with adjustable height sleave kit made by fulcrum suspension in QLD. Custom made adjustable strut tops on front. Front and rear strut braces, all bushes poly urethane with double castor front bushes. Has new wheel bearings all round with 4 thou km on them. Front hubs are from evo 2 to improve steering angle.
Brakes: evo 2 front 276mm dba rotors slotted, evo 2 calipers with good ferodo formula pads (semi race) rebuilt master a while ago, gsr rear disc brake setup same size as evo. These brakes are mad for such a small car.
Body: never been in an accident, perfect straight body. Paint in average condition but decent for its age and original paint. Has minor bumps and scratches as any car of its year, but generally quite clean.
Interior: nice neat and clean, has recaro suede evo 1 seats on factory rails (have been through regency with no issues) momo race steering wheel. Has sony cd player, sony front splits on doors, pioneer 6x9 rears with sony amp and kicker 12inch sub.
This is a super fun car to drive, its so much like a go kart. I built this car over many year and had so much fun with it. Its previous 4g61t engine had bigger turbo and made huge amounts of power for a fwd, but the car loved it. Took it to Mallala with previous engine,drivetrain and suspension setup and had a blast.
I had this car sitting for year as i was building it to be a weekend fun car i could take to the track. Damage to my daily driver saw me put this car back together with a fairly stockish engine setup for a reliable daily which it has been for over 6 months now.
Few bad points of the car:
Heater fan not working (truthfully i haven’t even looked at this its probably just a fuse, as its getting cold i probably will sort it very soon)
Needs some more mesh put in side of front bar.
Intercooler need one mount made as it sits on very slight angle.
Has Turbosmart BOV which is loud, i will provide a evo style bov to go with it to make plumb back.
Currently has work rs8 16by7.5inch wheels with almost brand new bridgestone potensa re001 tyres on them.
After 5.5k for this car as it is. Would be willing to negotiate with removal of some parts, ie. Wheels seats and so on.
